Young Borleone keeps pushing while Swerve and Flock are locked up (for now.) His latest project, Young Lord was released at the turn of the month. Young Lord, released as Borleone reaches 1 Million streams on Apple Music, finds the P.G. rapper introspective and scattered. Most songs are two minutes or less, with the Young Lord spitting in his signature, guttural style over sad, bouncy production. Borleone growls, snarls and whispers lines in equal parts, rapping lines like “Ain’t have no court, had to shoot in the crate” and “When you killing n****s it’s hard to repent”. He seems equal parts sinister and dejected, threatening murder while reflecting on a life of struggle and hardship, catching plays while thinking about friends locked away. But pressure makes diamonds, and as Borleone expands his art, his fanbase follows.
Young Lord is out now, Lil Syl is the only feature.
