MMG – Priorities 5 (Mixtape Stream)
Obviously, it’s dope that both Fat Trel and Wale continue to push great music under the MMG flag; Meek Mill, Stalley and other favourites are also included as well. Stream below.

Free Jacob – Reprise
Uptown DC native Free Jacob drops of “Reprise”, as in the reprise of “U Drinkin Now.” In his newest song in a while, the rapper covers partying, poverty and paranoia with backing from an anthemic beat, co-produced with EESTBOUND. Jacob has managed to stay slightly under the radar despite frequent looks from Ras Nebyu (and even Punch from TDE a few years ago.) Here’s hoping he doesn’t stay that way for long.
Reprise of “U Drinkin Now”. My first track of 2016.
Produced by EESTBOUND (Line 6) with additional production by Jacob.
Engineered by Jacob.Live Free coming soon.
Cornell Jone$ – #IMTELLINYA (Mixtape)
The highly slept-on Cornell Jones drops his latest project, #IMTELLINYA. The mixtape is all real Trap shit, with Cornell grabbing fellow street dwellers Money Montana, Hoodrich Pablo, TooEasy Black, Big Flock and Bounce Beat Black. Definitely worth a listen.
Mannywellz – Controlla
MD’s Mannywellz, still riding on the success of his single “Gotta Know”, tries his hand at Drake’s “Controlla.”
20NVR – Get Ready (Prod. By Dejuan Crooks)
New heat from the 5 piece group 20NVR; more info below.
Backed by some bouncy production from fellow DMV native Dejuan Crooks, Maryland’s 20NVR makes their musical debut with the release of “Get Ready.” Taken off their forthcoming NVR EP, the single showcases the groups diversity and ability to compliment each other flawlessly.
Stream “Get Ready” below and look out for more content from the 5-man collective to drop soon. Photo credit Electric Llama
3 Glizzy & Sant Glizzy – Run Up Them Bandz
New heat from GG. Three and Sant have been quiet for a minute but they went off on “Run Up Them Bandz.” Catch Shy at the 9:30 Club this Sunday by the way.
Mike Brown Da Czar – Up
Mike Brown and Capitol Cinema drop the trippy, black and white video for one of my favorite tracks he did from the past year. “Up” was produced by Jonny5 (of course.)
Iceberg Lo & Money Montana – Milligrams (Video)
Money Mon and Ice really have a wave going right now. Stylistically speaking, these guys are really pushing this DC trippy trap shit along with a few others (like AB Icee, Mike Brown, etc.) “Milligrams” was shot by Fool with the Camera and produced by Kidd Slopes.
Medusa – Big Dusa (Music Video)
Medusa might be the biggest female rapper in DC. She continues her reign with the video to “Big Dusa”, produced by Donn Gotti, directed by Abeni Nazeer.
Rockie Fresh – Pray 4 Me
Something new from the Maybach Music artist. Produced by Bizness Boi.
LB199X – Higher Art
We came across this via Pigeons & Planes and was effectively hooked. D.C. to Orlando (by way of Full Sail?) artist LB199X has released his new project Higher Art, which — as he says — is full of Soul.
The album is for the soul… It stimulates the mind and expresses freedom. This is what art does, it raises your consciousness.
Much respect for the use of a classic Black Ice poem, taken from Pete Rock’s ‘Truth Is’ (ScHoolboy Q also used this) on the first cut ‘Blessing$’. Check out Higher Art below.
Machine Gun Kelly Feat. Camila Cabello – Bad Things
You can pick up MGK’s latest single ‘Bad Things’ — more Pop-esque than previous efforts — via iTunes.
Dew Baby Feat. Skeme – Neck
Slutty Boyz’ own Dew Baby liberates a new track titled ‘Neck’, which features West Coast rising star Skeme.
French Montana Feat. Max B & Chinx – Paid For
French Montana drops off a new song titled ‘Paid For’, featuring Max B and (R.I.P.) Chinx.
Verse Simmonds Feat. Young Thug – Good Girls (Remix)
Young Thug jumps on the remix of Verse Simmonds latest single ‘Good Girls’. The original version can be found on Simmonds new album To All The Girls.
Rich The Kid & Migos – Dat Way
Produced by Honorable C.N.O.T.E. and taken from the upcoming fifth installment of their Streets On Lock series.
Kushy Stash – Disturbed (Prod. Cash Flow Beats)
Kushy Stash combines Metal with Trap on “Disturbed”, produced by Cash Flow Beats. Kushy has been exploring a bunch of themes from late ’90s and early 2000s Popular rock and it’s interesting to see him take a typical Trap beat and turn it into something completely different. Fans of the band Disturbed will recognized a number of references. Bonus track below.
