DC White & Killaree Santiago – Snakes N Da Grass (Video)

DC White and Killaree Santiago keep an eye out for treachery in their new video “Snakes N Da Grass.” Over a slower, sinister Trap beat. Both White and Santiago start their verses cool and calm, progressively getting more exuberant, rapping harder and faster. Shot by VEP Films, down in Austin during SXSW, this video is one of many that White and Santiago have put out recently, all of which are must-listens. The Dinner With The Plug mixtape is on the way too. Expect to hear “Snakes N Da Grass” and more like it on there. For bonus footage, check out the SXSW Vlog from White and Santiago, also shot by VEP Films.

Oddisee – AlWasta (EP)

Sudanese-American hiphop artist Oddisee’s new EP, “AlWasta,” takes its title from the Arabic colloquial term used to mean (to use colloquial English) “the plug.” The term “wasta” comes from the Arabic word “wasat,” meaning “middle” or “middleman,” and describes a member of the community who acts as a connector using their wealth of social currency. Understanding the value of social currency & how to use it (for better or worse) is what Amir Elkhalifa aka Oddisee focused on as the primary inspiration for his writings.

Oddisee is also ready to unveil his 2016 plan which includes a new instrumental album in May, a tour with his band Good Compny from May through July, and the much anticipated follow up to “The Good Fight”, a new solo album in the fall.

ZRoc – Amazing

ZRoc keeps the hits coming with the inspirational single “Amazing,” produced by Joe Millionare. He keeps dream chasing and tells us about his come up and continual rise. Zroc raps double time to tell us how he’s going to make it and has a memorable chorus to match. More below, video coming soon!

ZRoc raps about ignoring the haters that are bound to come when rising to the top. He knows that he was made for this and is doing everything to get to his dreams. “Amazing” is anthem for those who know that they will make it regardless!

Will-A-Fool – Will Power (Mixtape)

coverwill
As a talented producer from Atlanta with a number of hit singles under his belt, I’d imagine Will-The-Fool has spent some time in the booth as well. With a catalog like his, a solo career singing and rapping makes a lot of sense, especially given the success of fellow Atlanta producers-turned-artists Sonny Digital and Southside of 808 Mafia. I don’t know whether will has been doing his solo thing for a long time or not. I do know that his mixtape, Will Power, hosted by DJs Jay T, Sixx and Plugg is full of classic, mostly autotuned crooning over his own beats, with some standout features from guys like Chip and Money Makin’ Nique. Definitely worth a listen if you like the sound coming out of Atlanta right now but also want something original.
