Take equal parts depreciating humor, “based” rapping and street sensibility and you get Lil Silk, a young Atlanta upstart (shout out to Charlie Wilhoit.) Silk dropped one of my favorite tracks last year “Rapper” where its him rapping and joking about the music he makes. That makes it on his new mixtape Son of a Hustler along with a variety of other tracks and topics. Definitely worth a look because he’s talented and he’ll be going places.

MPA’s in-house producer/engineer YDG has had one hell of year. In 2013 and now he’s gotten placements from the Migos, Rich Homie Quan and Gucci Mane. He has done a lot of work with the QC collective, especially Peewee Longway and Young Thug. Although I’m wonder why this mixtape didn’t get a Xmas time release, check out YDG’s first official tape featuring MPA, Thugger, the Migos, Jermaine Miller and more…
