Dunson – Oceans Freestyle

A year ago today, Dunson dropped off his mixtape The Investment so he decided to give the fans a new freestyle in honor of the anniversary. He had this to say below about his new freestyle below.

“Most people say remixes and freestyles are cliché and I usually stay away from them. But as an emcee, if you didn’t want to jump on this Magna Carta track…you’re tripping! They left a hole in the beat, so I looped it, threw some drums on it and vented about everything from the industry and cougars to performing at SOBs and my lack of Hublot designer watches.”

Antony On The Beat (AOB) has been quietly working behind the scenes building his music catalogue. Last year his production featured on the 2012 Olympic Coca Cola’s “Move To The Beat” campaign and also featured on Universal Compilation Massive R&B Spring 2012 with the record “No More (Better You Go)”.

He is now gearing up his debut project “Spectrum” which is set to be released this year, AOB brings you this EXCLUSIVE! promo track “They Aint Ready” featuring UK artists D Dark, Ro Ro Benson and stateside artist Allyssa Chic.

This track oozes with fast paced hard-hitting energy and swagger, shown in the dynamics of the flows and hard kick and snare hits, including some interesting subtle background vocals by singer Carla Jae.

The track is a head-banging opener, were all parties delivered well with their own individual touches. This sets the tone for “Spectrum”, and will defiantly have heads bopping.

UPDATE: Vybz Kartel has issued a statement:

“I had the utmost confidence from the outset as I knew I was being used as a scapegoat as usual because of my image and content and some of my music. Firstly I want to thank my attorneys Tom and Christian Tavares-Finson, my family, my baby mother Shorty and all my fans for their continued support in my trying times.”

From the Jamaica Gleaner:

A Home Circuit Court jury has been directed to rule that dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel is not guilty of the murder of St. Catherine businessman Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton.

However, Kartel will remain in custody because he has another murder case pending against him.

The jury has also freed Kartel’s two co-accused, Lenburgh McDonald and Nigel Thompson.

Supreme Court judge Bryan Sykes instructed the 12-member jury to return the verdicts after the prosecution informed the court that it had no further evidence against the men.

The stage for the collapse of the case was set yesterday after Justice Sykes turned down an application by the Crown to admit two witness statements in the trial.

He said he was not convinced that the prosecution took enough steps to locate the witnesses.

The three were taken into custody for the 2011 shooting murder of the St Catherine businessman.

Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer is to return to the Home Circuit Court in November for trial in relation to the Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams murder case.
