For decades we’ve relied on Stevie Wonder and Disney to provide music for our birthday celebrations. 330’s new single “Paparazzi Love” is yet another option on the list of birthday songs.
Originally inspired as a birthday gift, “Paparazzi Love” details an evening full of surprises 330 had lined up for an ex-girlfriend’s birthday. When asked about the song, 330 says, “The song feels good. First of all, who knew Kill could sing like that? She sounds great on the record. I wanted to create something that was celebratory and honest; personal but relatable. Wishing my girl a happy birthday but acknowledging that it was just a moment in time and that it was likely that in the following moment, I will screw something up. That’s actually what happened: when she got home from the concert things went all the way wrong lol.”
Months after the botched night, 330 teamed up with producer and singer/songwriter OSK to rerecord the song. Jerome Vo, 330’s former high school classmate, created the soulful beat and features live guitar by Bobby Dunne. Young Yankee of Charged Up Studios expertly recorded and mixed the record in Richmond, VA.
Addressing the paparazzi reference, 330 explains, “It’s the idea that people are paying attention—sometimes more so than we appreciate. Everyone has been in a relationship where they were the subject of gossip and disapproval. ‘Let’s make it a headline story’ … basically, let’s give them something positive to talk about. Let’s go out and have a good time celebrating you.”
You can find “Paparazzi Love” on 330’s Bandcamp page or download her mobile app. What’s next for 330? Fans should expect an EP released in late summer 2013.

Wale stopped by Sway In The Morning on Shade 45 Tuesday and hinted that Fat Trel might appear on Self Made 3. More specifically, he stated that Rick Ross might jump on ‘MFS‘ — which originally appears on Target’s Deluxe Edition of The Gifted — and add the remix to the upcoming MMG compilation, which is set to drop on August 6th.

Lil Kim turns 39 today and she decides to let go of her new record. Make sure to wish her a Happy Birthday.
Willie The Kid Feat. Action Bronson & Roc Marciano – Medusa (Prod. Alchemist)
Willie The Kid seems very promising as far as being a rap star……at least he still makes dope music. His collaborative album with The Alchemist, Masterpiece Theatre, drops July 23rd.
Hiatus Kaiyote Feat. Q-Tip – Nakamarra
Don’t know how Australian group Hiatus Kaiyote got Q-Tip on the record (oh wait, I do — because they’re freakin’ dope), but they got him. They’re officially under boutique label Flying Buddha, who is planning to re-releasing their debut album Tawk Tomahawk come 16th July. It only makes sense that this would be on that project, right?
X Priest X (@XpriestX_) – Samurai
Eletro blend coming from out of Orlando, FL. I dig it….you can check out more from this artist here.
Tony Williams – Wake Up Girl (Prod. Kanye West)
This video was unintentionally hilarious, I imagine.
You are tuned in to the video for ‘Wake Up Girl’, the second single from the upcoming re-release of King of The Fool, Tony’s debut album, completely re-mixed and re-mastered and containing brand new material!!
‘Wake Up Girl’ was produced by Kanye West and co-produced by Erwin Murphy and Chris ‘Cutta’ Baldwin.
Pick it up July 23, 2013!!!
Shy Nature (@shynaturemusic) – Sinking Ship
Check out the lead track from their self-titled debut EP, released 16th September. You can preorder limited edition 10″ vinyl here.
Spark (@sparkthemusic) – Take It Back/Struck Out
I’m assuming ‘Struck Out’ is the B-side, but both songs — specifically ‘Take It Back’ — look to be huge hits for the year. Expect to hear more from this artist soon.
Cali Swag District Feat. Problem & Tiffany Foxx – Shake Somethin’
The Cali Swag District are back in effect with their latest single, ‘Shake Somethin’, featuring Problem and Tiffany Foxx. We All We Got is coming soon.
Jim Jones Feat. Jeremih & DJ Spinking – Nasty Girl
Jim Jones makes a pretty valiant attempt at a return to the dance floor with the Jeremih and DJ Spinking-assisted ‘Nasty Girl’. Perfect for the Summer….what’s up with the Funk Flex growl, though?
