Alicia Keys (@AliciaKeys) – Brand New Me

Check out this fresh new track from Alicia Keys that will be appearing on her upcoming Girl On Fire album, due November 27th. She even spoke about the tune in a previous interview:

‘Brand New Me’ is about the journey it takes to get to a place where you are proud to be a new you,There is nothing wrong with growing. There may be people in your life that knew you for a long time and they think of you only as the person you used to be and not the person you now are. And this song is a conversation introducing them to the new you, where nothing can hold you back and no one can hold you down.

@RasKass Feat. @ProVerbMusic & @KendrickLamar – Focus

Once again, Kendrick Lamar obliterates everyone on a track (even one of my all time favorites in Ras Kass, who hasn’t really wowed me with his lyrical ability since the ill-fated Van Gogh/Goldyn Chyld projects) over a fairly mundane production. From his Barmageddon mixtape.

The Bullitts (@TheBullitts) – They Die By Dawn (Trailer)

So The Bullitts have revealed a trailer to their forthcoming film ‘They Die By Dawn’, and boy is it a movie…..quite literally.

Written and directed by Jeymes Samuel (as if anyone else would be behind a Bullitts production of this magnitude), ‘They Die By Dawn’ is “set in the town of Langston, Oklahoma, which was one of the first black settlements post slavery, in the year 1890, where four outlaws with bounties on their individual heads meet up to play a game to the death, with the last man standing taking the collective bounty.”

The visual is also packing an ensemble cast, with a lot of Americans to boot: the piece stars Michael K. Williams, Isaiah Washington, Bokeem Woodbine, Nate Parker, Jesse Williams, Rosario Dawson, Erykah Badu, Harry Lennix, Denzel Whitaker, David Banner and Roger Guenveur Smith.

The movie drops in 2013, and will be accompanied by a soundtrack which will feature Jay Electronica, Erykah Badu and more (including, I assume, Samuel’s Bullitts).
