Fashion Firm: 2011’s 5 Fashionable Females In Music
Fresh into the New Year, I want to look back at the top 5 best dressed females of 2011. These ladies turned heads and grabbed attention not only with their talents, but with their wardrobes as well!

Amber Rose is one of the most stylist women in Hip-Hop, which makes it difficult for me to pick only one look I love. Amber’s amazing figure makes clothes fall perfectly on her size 4 frame. When she opts to wear clothes, her selection of garments and accessories are usually modern and edgy to correlate with her buzzcut hair. Many people have much to say about this Blonde Bombshell, but if you are a true lover of fashion one cannot deny this fashionista. Amber has made the difficult transition from “men’s magazine†to high end fashion editorial. Now the spokesperson for Smirnoff, co-host of BET’s “Master of the Mix†and embarking on her on rap career; I believe we will be seeing more of Ms. Amber Rose.
Beyonce’ wore an Emilio Pucci dress at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC for “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beautyâ€. The mermaid style dress hugged Beyonce’s curves a little too well making it difficult for Mrs. B to walk the red carpet. Due to the slight wardrobe malfunction and being booed by the photographers, Beyonce’ looked stunning. And pregnancy has not damper her style. Beyonce’ continues to rock her high heels and look gorgeous as seen in her 20/20 interview with Katie Couric on December 2.
Rihanna rocked her red hair most of the year which added to her Barbados flair and spiced up her already sexy style. However, with the release of her sixth studio album, “Talk That Talkâ€â€™ she has ditched the red hair; giving her a more diverse look. From the stylist outfits and flawless make up in her music videos to her nature beauty she displays while vacationing on the beach; Ms. Rihanna’s fashion and sense of style has grown drastically over the last few years. From pasties over her breast to elegant gowns, Rihanna has no limitations on her wardrobe.
Lady Gaga is one of the most uniquely dressed song birds in the count down. Gaga’s star power has pulled several big name designers to compose outfits for her appearances and performances. Her garments are mostly costume like than high end fashion, but she has her moments of absolute beauty. For example, Gaga was photographed in Salvatore Ferragamo, which was perfectly tailored to her slim figure. For some strange reason, the matching print of the sunglasses and clutch purse was not drastic over kill, but correlated perfectly to her distinctive style.
