Mystikal & Birdman On Cash Money Deal

Last month, Mystikal joined Busta Rhymes by signing with Cash Money. In a press release today, Baby and Mystikal discussed their new partnership:

It is an honor to get the opportunity to work with Mystikal, as we have a long history together. He is a great artist and his talent, combined with our hard work and strong team, is going to result in some of the best music of his career. We are expecting great work from Mystikal. Slim and I already have him in the studio working on his first album for Cash Money.

Mystikal adds: It has been a truly long time since I have felt like a rapper and with this signing, and partnership, Birdman and Slim have given me my life as a rapper back. I am ready to go. I am going to put my red Superman drawers, cape and boots on and go! This is a huge moment for me and I am truly excited to be with Cash Money Records”.

Mystikal’s next album is expected for a Spring 2012 release and Funk Flex will premiere his first single “Original” featuring Lil Wayne and Birdman tonight.

Fantasia Welcomes Baby Boy

From VIBE:

Fantasia had a prettly low key pregnancy as the public surprisingly didn’t make much commotion about it. But we were recently reminded because the singer gave birth on Monday (December 12). She and boyfriend Antwaun Cook brought a healthy baby boy into the world.

She delivered the baby in a North Carolina hospital. Cook is the man who allegedly had an affair with Fantasia while still married. Maybe the baby mama drama has been squashed. Either way, congrats to the both of them!

Gucci Mane Is Once Again A Free Man, Speaks To XXL On His Release

From XXL:

Gucci Mane says he’ll never go back to jail.

After his release from prison Sunday (December 11), the Atlanta rapper says he’s tired of going to jail and is confident that his latest penitentiary bid will be his last.

“This is the last time I think I’ll ever be in jail,” Gucci told XXLMag.com. “I really feel that way.”

For Gucci, who was given a six-month county jail sentence on September 13th after pleading guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one of disorderly conduct, his latest prison bid gave him time to reflect.

“It was a time for me to sit back and just refocus the whole way I do things, man,” Gucci said. “The times away from my fans just made me want to grind, get in the studio, go to my shows and appreciate my job and what I do now.”

So much so that Gucci says the very first thing he did after being discharged from prison was change his clothes and head right to the studio.

He’s already come out to plenty of reaction stemming from the BAYTL collaboration album he put together with Bay Area MC V-Nasty. “I think people are going to be surprised just how good the music sounds,” he said of the music. “A lot of people are going to be surprised.” –Mark Lelinwalla
