Gucci Mane Sued For Allegedly Double-Booking Shows

Gucci-Mane-Truth-Video-Still

From TMZ:

Empire Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Gucci — real name Radric Davis — claiming it paid him $22,500 to perform in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 22nd … but didn’t get their money’s worth. Here’s why:

Empire says prior to the gig, a nightclub in Tennessee began advertising a Gucci show for the same night — and says Gucci himself promoted it on Twitter.

Empire says it called Gucci’s people — who assured them, no TN gig was happening.

But the night of the concert, Empire says it became clear Gucci’s people lied … claiming the rapper only performed 3 songs (15 min of stage time) and then hightailed it 138 miles to perform at the other club. Then drove back to stay in the hotel Empire provided.

Empire says Gucci’s 2nd gig torpedoed their ticket sales. The company is suing for breach of contract and fraud. It wants all the cash it spent on his fee, hotel, travel and promotions.

Jeff Bhasker Disses Wale in Billboard Article

wale-ambition-listening-2
Everybody loves to hate Wale…Jeff Bhasker talks about Yeezus, Pink and how he thinks Kanye will be around in ten years and not Wale….more below, read the whole thing here.

You weren’t involved with “Yeezus,” but what was your take on the music?
I think it’s amazing. I think what came out was a fresh and awesome sound that was really challenging and innovative and exciting to listen to. It’s harder to listen to, but that’s why you’ll still be listening to it in 10 years, 20 years — not whatever else album came out today. I love Wale, but I don’t think that’s the music people are going to actually say, “That’s what defined this year.” That’s what Kanye does – over and over again.

B. Scott Sues BET For Making Him Dress Like A “Man”

00d4f281-8816-4d22-82f3-3729ae29c0f6_BScott_080813

Spotted on Yahoo TV, where you can read the full story:

B. Scott, a transgender TV host and popular Internet personality with a successful website, sued BET Networks on Tuesday for $2.5 million, stemming from an incident that took place at the 2013 BET Awards. He is claiming gender-identity and gender-expression discrimination along with five other complaints, after he says he was pulled from his hosting job for dressing in women’s clothing.

In legal paperwork filed with Los Angeles Superior Court and posted to his website, B. Scott (real name: Brandon Sessoms) is suing for compensatory damages based upon gender-identity and gender-expression discrimination, sexual-orientation discrimination, violation of the Civil Rights Act, breach of contract, wrongful termination, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

B. Scott claims that while he was working as a Style Stage Correspondent on June 30 for the 2013 BET Awards “106 & Park” Pre-Show, producers pulled him from the red carpet and asked him to wear men’s clothing, even though the women’s clothing he originally wore had been pre-approved by the network and the broadcast’s sponsors. However, “after his first segment, B. Scott was literally yanked backstage and told that he ‘wasn’t acceptable.’ He was told to mute the makeup, pull back his hair, and he was forced to remove his clothing and take off his heels; thereby completely changing his gender identity and expression.”

The lawsuit adds that he was then “forced to change into solely men’s clothing.” He claims he was not allowed to keep presenting and that the network then replaced him with “The Real” co-host Adrienne Bailon. Later, when he claims the network learned the error of their ways, B. Scott claims he was added back at the very end of the show in a diminished capacity as a co-host alongside Bailon.

Drake May Or May Not Have Signed Cassie To OVO Sound

Drake-French-Montana-and-Cassie

This was said to have been spotted on a Mediabase newsletter…..we have spotted it on various media outlets:

R&B singer and occasional model Cassie, who had one of the biggest 2006 rhythm-crossover hits with the minimal electro Ryan Leslie produced “Me & U” and has since then been signed under Sean Diddy Combs exclusive Bad Boy/Interscope distribution partnership, has now inked another deal with Drake and Noah “40″ Shebib’s OVO Sound, their first big signing. Riding high on the release of her new mixtape RockaByeBaby, well-received by fans and critics, Cassie is now preparing for a new single later this year, followed by her sophomore LP next Spring.

I feel that, if this is true, Drake is going to make her into the viable artist that Diddy — too busy having sex with her, perhaps — couldn’t quite pan out in the world of Pop/R&B. I will say: that last mixtape is jammin’, though.

Usher Wins Courtroom Custody Battle Over Kids (Video)

From USA Today:

Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Foster Raymond, faced off in an Atlanta courtroom this afternoon. It was an “emergency” hearing called in the wake of this week’s pool accident involving their son, Usher V, 5.

Tameka was asking for the couple’s custody agreement of a year ago to be changed.

Usher’s camp wanted the petition dismissed so that he can retain custody of Usher V and his brother, Naviyd, 4. The children are “thriving,” Usher’s lawyer, John Mayoue, told the court, noting that Usher V is “expected to be discharged on Sunday” from an Atlanta hospital.

After nearly two hours, Usher emerged victorious. The judge ruled to dismiss the petition.

And when it ended, Usher and Tameka hugged.

But the afternoon’s courtroom drama included emotional testimony, with Tameka at one point breaking down after the 911 pool accident call was playing, saying, “The whole scene was chaos!”

She tried to point a finger at Rena Oden, Usher’s aunt who is often with the kids and who was there on Monday when Usher V got his arm stuck in an underwater drain. “I don’t believe she had any control over the kids!” Tameka told the court.

A frustrated Tameka admitted that she doesn’t really know what goes on with her sons. “I don’t know where my children are. I don’t know who my children are with … I don’t know the phone number to the house where they are. I’ve never seen the house. I don’t know a lot.”
