New Survey Finds That D.C. Daters Lie The Most (Details)

date0513a

Reports Huffington Post:

This statistic probably won’t improve Washington’s reputation, or make you more excited about online dating.

The dating site whatsyourprice.com — billed as an “online dating auction,” the site allows “generous” members to bid on dates with “attractive” members; yes, this has been likened to prostitution — surveyed men and women around the country to find out who’s lying the most in their online profiles.

The website amNewYork reports that, according to the survey, 37 percent of men in D.C. are lying on their profiles, mostly about career and education.

Check out the rest of the survey results for men in this slideshow — the results for women are below that (spoiler: D.C.’s women fare slightly, but only slightly, better than the city’s men):

Here are the cities that whatsyourprice.com finds have the most honest online daters:

Men:
1. Houston
2. Phoenix
3. Boston
4. Pittsburgh
5. Chicago

Women:
1. Charlotte
2. Houston
3. Minneapolis
4. Seattle
5. Phoenix

Michael Vick Cancels Book Tour Due To Death Threats

vick-new-specs.indd

Check out this press release from the book publisher’s official website, speaking on the cancellation of Mike Vick’s book tour (you can buy the book here):

Worthy Publishing, in coordination with Michael Vick’s advisors, has cancelled his planned book signings around the country after credible threats of personal harm and property damage were received by Barnes & Noble Booksellers and distinguished independent bookstore Books & Greetings in Northvale, New Jersey.

Despite warnings of planned protests, Vick had hoped to continue with the appearances as planned, bringing his story of redemption and second chance to major markets. However, once the reported protests escalated into threats of violence against the retailers, Worthy Publishing, Vick and his family, decided to cancel the events.

“While we stand by Michael Vick’s right to free speech and the retailers’ right to free commerce, we cannot knowingly put anyone in harm’s way, and therefore we must announce the cancellation of Mr. Vick’s book-‐signing appearances,” said Byron Williamson, president of Worthy Publishing. “We’ve been assured these threats of violence, which have been reported to the police, are being taken very seriously by local authorities.”

“Michael Vick has millions of fans and has countless letters from teachers thanking him for inspiring students to make positive changes,” said Chris Shigas with Vick’s long-‐time PR firm French/West/Vaughan. “It is disturbing that a few extremists would threaten Vick’s family and store employees.”

Vick’s autobiography, Finally Free, reveals behind-‐the-‐scenes details of how he spiraled out of control, his time in prison and the hard fall that later brought about his redemption.

Frank Ocean Sued Over Not Giving Credit For ‘Channel Orange’ Record

Frank Ocean

The 25-year-old singer is being sued by Micah Otano, a producer who claims he was deprived of credit for his work on Frank Ocean’s hit song “Lost,” which was featured on Ocean’s Grammy-winning album channel ORANGE.

E! News has obtained the documents filed by Otano against the Grammy-winning artist on March 6 in the U.S. District Court of California.

Otano cited complaints for breach of contract, fraud in the inducement, rescission and restitution, copyright infringement and declaratory relief in his suit.

He insists he cocreated the song upon which “Lost” is based (a track called “DayLight” with producers Malay and Paul Shelton) and also “solely performed the lead synthesizer parts on ‘Daylight’ as well as piano and other parts.”

The lawsuit further states that in his joint ownership of the track, Otano and Malay (also named in the suit) agreed they wouldn’t “shop their joint work around the music industry without ensuring co-producer credit for the work” but that “Malay did just that, stealing Otano’s performances, passing them off as his own, and using them on the Frank Ocean song.”

Def Jam and Universal Music Group are also named in the suit.

Otano is looking for damages in an amount to be proven at trial.

N.O.R.E.’s Untold Biggie Secret

nore-6On the death anniversary of Notorious B.I.G. on this past Saturday, N.O.R.E spoke to Radio.com and narrated an untold story about him.

In the Notorious movie , there’s a scene where Biggie makes several calls to his loved ones. Noreaga reveals that one of those calls was made to him, although that didn’t appear in the movie. During the call, he says Biggie played Capone-N-Noreaga’s song ‘T.O.N.Y. (Top of New York)’ which was not released at that time, Biggie later told him that he was sitting next to the song’s producer Nasheem Myrick and that’s how he gained access to the recording.

“The only part that made me cry was when he was making those phone calls. I was one of those phone calls. I wasn’t honored that Big called me playing ‘T.O.N.Y.,’ I was like ‘How the f*** you get that?’ I’m thinking it’s bootlegged. Big Took like five minutes before he answered.”

B.I.G. then say……

“He was like, ‘I’m getting on the remix, ‘As soon as I get back to New York, I’m bodying that. Don’t tell no one I don’t want nobody to know.’ I’m thinking I’m gonna have the biggest record out.”

From BBC News….you can read the full feature here.

British rappers Rizzle Kicks have confirmed they are working on a TV sitcom.

But Harley and Jordan have said, although the sitcom was at pilot stage, they have scrapped the plans for it and are “starting again”.

The duo were talking ahead of their performance for the Comic Relief gig, set up by Russell Brand, called Give It Up.

“We just want it to be kind of funny and groundbreaking,” said Jordan.

“So we had kind of like a pilot in the works and then another idea surfaced. So we’ve had to rethink, like, a lot of things,” added Harley.

The pair said they also had a wish list of people they would like to star in it, but wouldn’t reveal any names until the format was complete.

Kevin Hart’s awards skit-turned faux TV reality show is taking him straight to the bank, as BET and Hart Productions has signed on to produce a second season of Real Husbands Of Hollywood. Says BET’s Stephen Hill:

“When we launched this series in January, we knew our audience would have as much fun watching it as we had making it, and since it has been on the air, fans have voiced on social media that they want more. So this was a pretty simple decision: ‘Hey! Let’s make more! We are beyond thrilled that Kevin Hart and the stellar Husbands will be back bickering and back-biting for another season on BET.”

Tamar-Braxton-Feet-585923

It appears that Tamar Braxton has inked herself a record deal (it didn’t even occur to me that she was independent until now, either) with Epic Records, as she is now present in the artists section of their website. No official announcement from either party yet, so I guess we’ll see what happens.

Lil’ Kim Files Lawsuit Against Her Lawyer

Lil-Kim-020512

She really needs to be filing a lawsuit with her plastic surgeon. Hey-yo!

From NY Daily News:

Lil’ Kim filed a $1 million lawsuit against a lawyer and businessman who she claims duped her into signing a series of bad licensing agreements.

The 38-year-old former rapper says Sunny Barkats bamboozled her into entering transactions that gave himself and his partner, Andrew Ro, a 44% stake in a corporation formed to license her brand names. Lil’ Kim claims that she eventually wised up to the shady deals in December 2012, but Barkats refused to rescind them.

Barkats called the lawsuit a “frivolous” attempt for her to back out of contracts.
