Max B’s appeal of multiple counts stemming from his role in a robbery attempt-turned-homicide has officially fallen through, as the Dipset member now faces the next 30 years in prison before the possibility of parole.
RapDose.com reports that the earliest Max B can leave prison is November 9, 2042.
The rapper, real name Charly Wingate, was convicted on 9 of 11 counts of murder and robbery charges as the result of an incident in New Jersey that left David Taylor shot dead.
In April 2011, Max B was hopeful that he could be released from prison in the Summer of 2011. “The appeal process is done, finally. It’s been done for about a month now,” he said then. “Now what they do is, the prosecutor responds back and you get a letter. They tell you you’ve got to wait eight to 10 months for a response from the appellate court. You might see me in the summer. You might see me at the end of the year. I’m just waiting on the appellate courts, all my paperwork is done.”
Rihanna is reportedly being lined-up to play Whitney Houston in a new Hollywood biopic of the late singer. Though some fans have criticized the decision to go ahead with a movie so soon after Whitney’s death, her former mentor Clive Davis is reportedly helming the project so as to make sure the film celebrates the life of Houston, rather than cashing in on her demise.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson are top on movie bosses’ list of names for the lead role, with Kill Bill actress Vivica Fox and American Idol singer Jordin Sparks also thought to be in with a chance. As the movie is likely to span several decades of the singer’s life, Will Smith’s daughter Willow Smith could be cast as Whitney during her childhood. A report in the UK’s People newspaper suggests Houston knew about plans for a biopic before her death, with a source commenting, “Whitney knew about the project and was excited to see where it would lead. It’s hoped the biopic will be as successful as the Tina Turner movie What’s Love Got To Do With It, which landed two Oscar nominations for Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne who played Tina and Ike Turner”.
Cops are looking to speak with rapper Rick Ross … after a 40-year-old man was shot to death in front of his Miami Gardens home this morning … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us … Ross was NOT home at the time of the shooting and at this point in the investigation, he’s not considered a suspect.
We’re told cops found the victim laying inside a gate at the home.
Sources tell us … investigators don’t know if the victim has any connection to Ross, but since he is listed as the owner of the property, cops want to ask him a few questions about the situation.
So far, no comment from Rick’s camp.

Muslim-majority Malaysia on Tuesday banned a planned concert by Erykah Badu after a photograph appeared showing the Grammy-winning singer with the Arabic word for Allah written on her body.
The American R&B singer was scheduled to perform Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur, but some Muslim groups said Badu was an unsuitable role model for young Malaysians after seeing a publicity photo of her with what appeared to be temporary tattoos of the word Allah on her bare shoulders.
A government committee that includes police and Islamic policy officials decided to forbid Badu’s show because the body art was “an insult to Islam and a very serious offense,†Information
Minister Rais Yatim said in a statement.
The photo of Badu had “triggered public criticism that could jeopardize national security and cause a negative impact to the government’s image,†the statement added.
The 41-year-old, Dallas-born singer had already arrived in Malaysia. She can stay as a tourist but will not be allowed to perform, an Information Ministry official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make public statements.
Razman Razali, managing director of the show’s Malaysian organizer, Pineapple Concerts, said his company hopes the ban will be reversed.
Badu is “worried and dismayed,†Razman told The Associated Press. She was slated to perform in an auditorium that can hold about 3,000 spectators.
It was the first concert by a Western performer to be banned in Malaysia in recent years. Several other stars, including Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne, were told to dress modestly while performing.
The photograph of Badu, which also appears on her official fan website, attracted attention after Malaysia’s most widely read English-language daily, The Star, published it Monday.
On Tuesday, the newspaper apologized to Muslims for what it called an “oversight,†saying it deeply regretted any offense sparked by the photo, which was “inadvertently published.†The Home Ministry summoned The Star’s editors to explain the photograph, which caused some Muslim activists to demand the newspaper’s suspension.

Just a few days after the funeral of Whitney Houston, it has emerged that Rihanna is among the shortlist of talent who are being considered for a biopic of the late legend.
The What’s My Name singer may have been touted for the leading role but judging by today’s pictures she has another famous star on her mind.
Whitney’s record label boss and close friend Clive Davis is at the helm of the project and he reportedly wants to get a script finalised as soon as possible so filming can begin.
Rihanna, is in the running for the lead role as is Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson, 30.

Although movie executives are hoping Riri will sign up for the film, the Talk That Talk singer already turned down the chance to remake Houston’s The Bodyguard last year.
She told OK! magazine: ‘I hate it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else. I want to play a character. My whole life is playing Rihanna; being a singer won’t be a stretch for me.’
The superstar’s life story had been discussed before her death and the I Will Always Love You singer was excited about the project.
A source told the People newspaper: ‘Whitney knew about the project and was excited to see where it would lead.

Whitney, who was found dead in a bath in the Beverly Hilton, is said to have claimed that she was beaten up by the devil during drug binges.
Her former sister-in-law, Tina Brown, told the Daily Star Sunday: ‘She was always convinced that demons were out to get her when she was high.’
Tina, who is the sister of Bobby Brown, added: ‘On one occasion she told me she was staring at the face of the devil himself… but it was her reflection.’

She claimed that Whitney’s legs were black and blue from self harming when high but she believed that Satan was responsible for the wounds.
Tina, who has served time in jail for drug possession, also claimed that Houston would call drug dealers to her home to prolong parties.
She told the newspaper: ‘She’d cut open a cigar, take the tobacco out, put in marijuana and the whole piece of crack and puff away.’
Drake and Common may have squashed their highly publicized beef, but that doesn’t mean that the Young Money rapper is finished airing out his dirty laundry in public. Now, the rapper addresses several other feuds he has going with Pusha T, Ludacris and Future.
In the February/March issue of Vibe, Drizzy spoke on his past beefs with rappers Future, Ludacris and Pusha T. Beginning with Future’s comments that Drake’s absence from the video of the “Tony Montana” remix was “a slap in the face,” Drake said that he has no issues with Future.
“I’ve got no issues with [Future],” he said. “I’m happy I got on the song [‘Tony Montana’].”
Drizzy then turned his focus to Ludacris, who attacked him and Big Sean on his song “Badaboom” over their hash-tag style of rap. He chalked up the diss record to an attempt on Luda’s part to capitalize off his fame.

Finally, Drake tackled the subject of Pusha T’s supposed diss on the song “Don’t Fuck With Me,” which featured lines like “The talk don’t match the leather/The swag don’t match the sweaters” that sparked speculation among listeners. The YMCMB star couldn’t explain the reason for possible shot, postulating that, “maybe that guy is bored.”
“[As for Pusha T’s subliminal shots,] I’ve been really open about my love for the Clipse. I don’t know [why he dissed me], maybe that guy is bored,†he touted.

Just three days after Jim Jones was arrested for assault on a police officer following a casino brawl in Connecticut, the rapper was arrested AGAIN — law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
According to law enforcement sources, Jim was pulled over earlier today in New York City — and subsequently arrested for driving on a suspended license.
Jim Jones claims he DOESN’T have a suspended driver’s license in New York … insisting cops made a big boo boo by arresting him earlier today.
A rep for the rapper tells TMZ … Jim is adamant there must have been a mistake in the computer system … simply stating, “Jim does not have a suspended license.”
The rep says Jim’s lawyers have already been dispatched to remedy the situation.
The worst part … Jim claims he was originally sitting in the PASSENGER seat of the car … when his driver stopped in front of a store to pick up a few items. Jim claims cops approached him and told him to move the car … so he did … and shortly after Jim got in the driver’s seat, he was pulled over. During the stop, cops were informed he had a suspended license … and took him into custody.
Still, the rep tells us … the cops were “very cool and respectable” during the incident … and adds, “It’ll all be thrown out.”
“Number one, something like that never happened. I don’t know where they got that from. For a strong black woman like that, for people to try to tear her down, that’s terrible. That’s terrible in so many ways.”

USA Today reported The US Bureau of Prisions recently announced that it will be selling MP3 players to nearly 200,000 inmates across the country. Inmates will be able to buy the player from their prison’s commissary. Inmates will have a select list of songs they can download (nothing “explicit or racially chargedâ€). The idea is to decrease the boredom and stress inmates feel on a day-to-day basis, with the hope being this will increase prison security.
