Don’t expect to catch Nicki Minaj’s latest music video “Stupid Hoe” on BET — because TMZ has learned the network is REFUSING to air it.
We spoke with a rep for BET who wouldn’t specify exactly why the network has banned the video — simply saying BET will not be broadcasting it.
But sources at the company tell us, the ban was put in place because the video’s just too explicit for TV.
Don Cornelius’ 911 Call Was From His Son
From TMZ:
We now know who made the call to 911 after Don Cornelius shot himself in the head early this morning — it was his own son.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … one of Don’s two sons made the call around 4:00 AM … and paramedics were immediately dispatched to Don’s Sherman Oaks home in an effort to save his life.
Don was transported to a nearby hospital — where he was later pronounced dead.
Cornelius was 75 years old.

I recently caught up with him while he was on the set of his video for “The Zone†with The Weeknd and asked him about another “controversial†line from “Stay Schemin .whether we should expect a second Common response….
So people want to know: will you respond to Common?
No. Because despite how it’s been worded by him that situation is not a “hip hop moment†or a “battle for the sake of musical integrityâ€â€¦it’s a ploy for attention around the release of an album. More than anything it was just disappointing cause what kid isn’t a fan of what Common has done for our genre. A guy who made such an incredible career for himself based off expressing genuine feelings about life and love is now targeting me for sharing my story.
There’s a line from your “Stay Schemin†verse about Kobe’s soon to be ex-wife Vanessa that has gotten some negative attention. Can you speak to what you were trying to express with that line?
That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me.
Cory Gunz Speaks on Arrest
A few days after Cory Gunz was arrested in the Bronx for carrying a gun, he spoke with the NY Daily News on his arrest. If convicted, he could face three years in prison.
“This was a big mistake on my part. I didn’t have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this. It’s been really hard, really stressful. When the smoke finally clears people will understand what was going on.â€

Cory Gunz Arrested For Gun Possession (Updated)
Veteran Bronx MC Peter Gunz confirmed to MTV News early Sunday (January 29) that his son, rapper Cory Gunz, was arrested for gun possession in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday afternoon.
“The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx,” Gunz told MTV News. “They caught him around 2 p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.
“It was definitely an illegal search,” Peter added.
Gunz was unable to disclose full details on the incident just yet, but he explained the events leading up to his son’s arrest. “I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out,’ ” Gunz said. “According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.
“What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory actually happened to be a cool dude,” Gunz continued. “After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation.”
The 24-year-old rapper was brought to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx on Saturday, but officials there say he has since been transported to Central Booking, on E. 161st Street in the Bronx.
While this is Cory Gunz’s first brush with the law, his father is still worried about the potential fallout from a firearm charge.
“At the end of the day, there’s a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it’s mandatory jail time,” he said. “To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.
“This is Cory’s first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them.”

Ed Sheeran Takes Top Spot Over Adele For 21 Anniversary

Ed Sheeran has toppled Adele’s 21 (3) to return to the top of the Official Albums Chart this week with his triple platinum debut release +, after climbing one place to the summit. ‘+’ became the fastest selling digital debut album in chart history when it was released in September 2011, and became one of the biggest selling albums of 2011. The album has amassed unit sales of nearly 881,000 since release.
The albums race has once again been incredibly tight this week with just 1200 copies separating all three top positions. Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto walks away with second place today with Adele landing at Number 3.
US crooner Chris Isaak’s collection of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis covers, Beyond The Sun, is this week’s highest new entry at Number 6, while Virginian metallers Lamb Of God’s seventh album, Resolution, is new in at Number 19. Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit‘s second album, The Lion’s Roar, lands at 35.
And finally, in the midst of media flurry surrounding a rumoured divorce from supermodel Heidi Klum, this week’s highest climber is British singer Seal‘s Soul 2, up 51 places to Number 17.

Flavor Flav’s Daughter Arrested
Seems like every rapper’s kid is getting arrested this weekend. From TMZ:
Cops were called to the Las Vegas home of Flavor Flav early this morning after a family spat turned violent — and when cops sorted it out, one of his daughters was arrested.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Flav’s 19-year-old daughter Dazayna got into an argument with one his step-sons, which eventually became physical.
We’re told Flav tried to break it up and got hit by his daughter for his troubles. It’s unclear whether it was on purpose or by accident.
Our sources say someone in the house called the cops. When police arrived, we’re told they interviewed everyone and found evidence of domestic violence. Dazayna was eventually taken in for misdemeanor battery.
Dazayna is still in custody and will go before a judge tomorrow morning.
