From TMZ (which shows a additional video of the destruction that took place):

Rapper Tyler the Creator was arrested in Hollywood a few hours ago after he allegedly trashed some sound equipment inside the world famous Roxy on Sunset Blvd … TMZ has learned.

The 20-year-old MTV award winner had performed at the venue earlier in the evening. The video below shows Tyler appearing to go off on the sound engineer inside the club.

We’re told cops were called by Roxy staff around 11:30 PM … and Tyler was taken into custody in front of his mother … who was visibly upset and yelled at the cops.

Tyler was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and was taken to a nearby station to be booked.

The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Dept. tells TMZ … security staff had contacted deputies last night to report Tyler had “just destroyed an electric soundboard belonging to the venue.”

Cops say, “As [Tyler] was being escorted to a nearby radio car, the crowd exiting the venue became angry and rushed into the street, towards deputies.”

Cops called for backup and closed down Sunset Blvd for 30 minutes to regain control of the situation. Eventually the crowd dispersed and no one was injured.

Quote Of The Day: Kendrick Lamar Lets Us Know The Collab Project With J. Cole Is Still Coming

K. Dot recently said this to XXL in response to being asked about the collab project with J. Cole:

“We’re still trying to formulate it and sit down in a neutral zone, where either one of us is moving and doing shows, interviews and press all the time. We want to lock ourselves in the studio and make it right. We got songs where we can actually formulate something, but we want it to be right.”

Bankruptcy Judge Orders Young Buck Into Liquidation

A bankruptcy judge told Young Buck to get straight out of Cashville. From Wall Street Journal:

Judge George C. Paine II of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Nashville, Tenn., switched Young Buck’s Chapter 11 reorganization to a Chapter 7 liquidation this week, court papers show, granting the request of the attorney shepherding the rapper and driving force behind Cashville Records through bankruptcy.

As Bankruptcy Beat previously reported, trustee Jeanne Burton in October concluded that Young Buck (real name: David Darnell Brown) didn’t have a viable shot at reorganizing. Burton came to this conclusion after spending months reviewing Young Buck’s financial situation and helping him to craft a bankruptcy-exit plan. But in the end, it all came down to fellow rapper and former mentor 50 Cent.

That’s because Young Buck’s plan counted on his ability modify a recording agreement with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records and a distribution agreement with Universal Music Group. The revamped agreements would provide the revenue needed to pay off Young Buck’s creditors, according to the plan. However, G-Unit and Curtis Jackson (aka 50 Cent) opposed the plan, and Burton said both G-Unit and Universal aren’t willing to modify the agreements.

In Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Young Buck had the ability to work with Burton in putting forth a plan that would use his future earnings to pay his creditors. But under Chapter 7, his assets could be sold and distributed among his creditors. Still, he can ask the court to declare certain assets exempt from bankruptcy, allowing him to keep them, and he can also ask the court to release him from certain debts.

There will be a meeting for Young Buck’s creditors on Jan. 30 in Nashville, court papers show.

As the rapper’s Twitter feed would have it, perhaps there may be some cash for creditors. He declared that he “Made more #Money than my whole Career in 7 days!!!” in a Nov. 30 tweet, which he followed up the same day by claiming “And just for the #Haters sake, I DON’T OWE NOOOBODY S*@$!!! Not even who u thank I OWE!!!”

Or maybe we shouldn’t read too much into that. After all, on Dec. 7, Young Buck tweeted this: “Judge me by the #Man, not by what’s in my #Hand. #Money don’t make you #Real.”

Floyd Mayweather Gets 90 Days In Jail For Hitting Wife

So Money Floyd will box with the mother of his kids, but not with Pac? From AllHipHop:

Earlier today (December 21), TMZ reported that boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be serving a 90-day jail sentence, following a guilty sentence from a domestic violence incident back in 2010.
He is expected to turn himself in by January 6th.

According to charges, the September 2010 incident involved Mayweather hitting the mother of his children in front of them, and then later threatening to beat them as well.
He later reached a plea deal where he would plead guilty to a misdemeanor and no contest to two harassment charges.

Via TMZ: “Floyd was sentenced to six months in jail, but three months of that sentence was suspended. He also gets three days credit for time he has already served.”

As part of the plea deal he reached with prosecutors, Mayweather was sentenced to serve six months in jail; however, three months of that sentence has been suspended.

He will also need to complete 100 hours of community service, pay a $2,500 fine, and attend a year-long program for domestic violence.

Floyd Mayweather can currently be seen sharing the cover of the December/January issue of XXL with friend 50 Cent.

Quote Of The Day: Danny Brown Disses Mac Miller

From a recent interview with Rolling Stone, when asked about Childish Gambino’s latest project:

“I listened to [Childish Gambino’s ‘Camp’]. Hey, it’s better than Mac Miller’s. That’s my response. It’s better than Mac Miller’s. He’s the worst guy around. Don’t get me started. His album cover is like, ‘Ugh, what is this?’ He’s trying to be artistic, huh? If I see him, I’m just going to have to apologize to him, like, ‘Man, I just want to apologize for hating you so much. Because I’m not going to stop. You’re probably a cool guy. I don’t feel violent in any way, but I really hate you. I hate your music, man.’ It’s just bad.”

Buju Banton Could Be Released From Jail On United States Screw-Up

Team America! From the Jamaican Observer:

Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton, now serving a 10-year sentence on drug-related charges, could be freed due to a blunder on the part of the United States government.

Buju Banton — whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie — should have been brought to trial before 70 days. This is a right guaranteed under the Sixth Amendment.

The media report states that the government may have violated the Speedy Trial Act. The act refers to one of the rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution to defendants in criminal proceedings. The right to a speedy trial, guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment, is intended to make sure that defendants are not subjected to unreasonably lengthy incarceration prior to a fair trial.

In judging speedy trial claims, the US Supreme Court has developed a four-part test that considers the length of the delay, the reasons for the delay, the defendant’s assertion of his right to a speedy trial, and the prejudice to the defendant.

Violations of the act, such as where the state has failed to bring the case to trial for an ‘unreasonable’ length of time, may be a cause for dismissal of a criminal case.

Buju Banton’s first trial took place in September 2010, nine months after his initial arrest by law enforcement officials in Florida and four months after Judge James Moody pushed back Buju’s initial court date without giving any specifics regarding why the case was postponed. His second trial, where he was later convicted, took place in February of this year, four months after he was granted bail in the case.

ATF & DC Police Impersonate Rap Label; Arrest 70 In Year-Long Guns & Drug Sting

Looks like the Hip-Hop Prolice took it a whole ‘nother notch. From AllHipHop:
Over $7.2 million in drugs and 161 weapons were confiscated after a year long investigation by the Washington D.C. Police and the Bureau the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, which operated as fictional rap label.

According to Washington D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier, D.C. police and ATF agents acted as undercover officers and “music industry insiders” during the year-long sting.
The police created the “Manic Enterprisess” studio in Northeast Washington, for fictional rap artist Richie Valdez in November of 2010.

Agents then told the underground world and black market that they were seeking to purchase weapons and drugs.

Over the course of the year, agents confiscated 161 firearms (including a rocket launcher), 29 assault weapons, 80 pounds of methamphetamine, 21 pounds of cocaine, 1.25 gallons of PCP, 24 pounds of marijuana, heroin and Ecstasy.

“If these drugs and guns had made it to our streets, the impact would have been devastating to community,” Police Chief Lanier told AllHipHop.com in a press release on Monday.
“This was an extremely dangerous operation. These suspects had bragged about other violent crimes they had committed and had no qualms about killing police officers, guards and other innocent people,” Chief Lanier continued. “All the law enforcement members involved in this operation are to be commended for their bravery.”

In addition to the seizures of drugs and weapons, police said many of the 70 suspects detained bragged about other crimes and reportedly stated they would kill police officers or other innocent people if necessary.

Undercover officers arrested one group of assailants in a preemptive attempt to stymie a robbery of the studio.

The depth of the investigation went one step further, when officers ventured to Atlanta with suspects claiming to be associated with the Mexican Drug Cartel “La Familia”.
The Mexican cartel members unknowingly introduced agents to the source that was supplying guns from Georgia.

“These investigations have proven very effective in targeting criminals and keeping drugs and guns off our community’s streets,” said US Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. “The US Attorney’s Office is committed to working with our law enforcement partners and the citizens of the District of Columbia to bringing those who traffic in narcotics and firearms to justice.”
The recording studio was located at a rowhouse in Northeast Washington and was equipt with hidden audio and video equipment.

“It was just about two years ago to the day that we stood here with Chief Lanier and talked about our commitment to the safety of the citizens in the District of Columbia,” said ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Rich Marianos. “Today’s event shows that the men and women of ATF kept their word, and continue their work in making the citizens of DC safer.”

TSA Investigating Freddie Gibbs Weed Incident

Freddie Gibbs was recently let off the hook after a TSA agent didn’t report weed found in his bag during an airport secruity check. Instead of turning Gibbs in, the agent left the note above. Afterwards, Gibbs’ twipic has caught the attention of the Transportation Safety Administration who issued the statement below.

“TSA takes all allegations of inappropriate conduct seriously and is investigating this claim,” says a spokesperson for the TSA. ” Should the claims be substantiated, TSA will take appropriate disciplinary steps and refer the alleged possession of an illegal substance to law enforcement.”

Snoop & Wiz Khalifa Cover Rolling Out

Snoop & Wiz hits the cover of this week’s Rolling Out issue. In the excerpt below, Snoop and Wiz respond to the public’s take of the pair promoting marijuana.

Snoop: We push having a good time with ourselves and not pushing it on you. We celebrate marijuana because of the joy it brings us. Our relationship was us enjoying that first. Once we put one in the air, we could talk about anything.

Wiz: Some people take a little here and there. Whatever gets you by. We don’t encourage marijuana use for people to be doing what we’re doing. We celebrate it because of how it makes us feel.

Madonna Signs To Interscope; Is Actually Still Making Music

I couldn’t believe it either. From MTV:

After rumors hit the Net on Wednesday that Madonna had signed with Interscope, fans waited to see if the ink had really dried on the contract. On Thursday (December 15), a rep for the singer confirmed the industry chatter to MTV News. In addition to signing with the label, Madge will drop her still-untitled album by the end of March.

Madonna has already completed work on the LP and her single “Gimme All Your Luvin” will be released by the end of January, according to a press release. A demo version of the song, featuring rappers M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, leaked back in November. The three ladies recently shot a video for the track and made headlines when Nicki tweeted about a kiss she shared with Madonna on set.

The three-album deal with Interscope marks the latest chapter in the Queen of Pop’s career. She’ll now be labelmates with the likes of Lady Gaga and Eminem. She’ll also stay in her 10-year 360 deal, signed back in 2007, with Live Nation for all merchandising and tour-related matters.

“We couldn’t be happier to work with [Interscope’s] Jimmy Iovine, [Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Group] Lucian Grainge and the entire Interscope team,” Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary said in a statement. “We anticipate a very bright future at our new home.”

On Thursday, the newly signed Interscope Records artist became a Golden Globe nominee for her “W.E” track “Masterpiece.” “W.E” is Madonna’s directorial effort, and her tune made the cut for Best Original Song — Motion Picture.
