Jay-Z Pulls Occupy Shirts Amid Criticism
Welp….from Sandra Rose:
Rap mogul Jay Z has come under heavy fire for attempting to profit off the Occupy Wall Street movement by selling ‘Occupy All Streets’ t-shirts on Rocawear.com without donating a portion of the proceeds back to the movement.
Jay Z quickly pulled the t-shirts from the website amid heavy criticism in the media.
The Occupy movement organizers say Jay Z is typical of the corporate greed that gave birth to the Occupy movement. Jay Z, Kanye West and Russell Simmons have been widely criticized for pretending to be supporters of the movement when they are really looking for ways to line their own pockets.

Erick Sermon Suffers Heart Attack; Is Reportedly Okay
As an 80s baby, it’s crazy to see how our pioneers and legends (hell, our peers) are showing signs of mortality before our very eyes. Spotted on SOHH:
Just days after the passing of hip-hop icon Heavy D, the rap world has learned EPMD’s Erick Sermon suffered a heart attack this weekend.
Details of the rapper’s heart attack emerged online Saturday (November 12) evening.
Just days after Heavy D passed away, hip-hop almost endured the loss of another legend. According to DJ Scratch, MC/producer Erick Sermon suffered a heart attack earlier today–though he said Sermon is recovering. “Erick Sermon had a heart attack today,” Scratch wrote. “He’s ok, but still send your prayers.” DJ Scratch was a long-time DJ and producer for seminal hip-hop duo EPMD, which consisted of Sermon and Parrish “PMD” Smith. (BET)
Reports claim Sermon’s high blood pressure ultimately sparked the attack.
Kim Wingate, a close friend of Sermon and owner of justshuddup.com, said that she talked to the rapper. He nearly died. “On the heals of suffering the loss of Heavy D, we almost lost another HipHop Legend last night. Erick Sermon is in the hospital after suffering a heart attack last night. I just got off the phone with E and he said the doctor told him his blood pressure was so high he was minutes from death. He wanted me to let everyone know he’s okay.” (All Hip Hop)
Producer 9th Wonder sent his prayers to the hip-hop veteran.
“Praying for E. Sermon yall!!RT @djscratch Erick Sermon had a heart attack today. He’s ok, but still send your prayers. He is not on Twitter.,” he tweeted Saturday. (9th Wonder’s Twitter)
Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons gave his thoughts on Sermon’s incident.
“praying for my man Erick Sermon >> http://bit.ly/tDqDDV,” he tweeted.
“sending prayers to my life long friend Erick Sermon…http://bit.ly/th5Lqy” (Russell Simmons’ Twitter)
No further details have been revealed as of now.

French Montana Makes NY Post Page Six
French Montana’s is one of the hottest rappers on the street right now . Over the weekend, Hot 97′s Angie Martinez snapped him and Kanye West backstage at the Watch The Throne concert in New Jersey. For weeks, rumors have been ringing that he was signing to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label. Jay-Z To Be The Only Guest On Rihanna’s ‘Talk That Talk’
The one and only guest on Rihanna’s upcoming 6th studio album Talk That Talk is none other than the boss Mr Carter . The duo producers Stargate has revealed to 730.no that Jay will lay a verse on Rihanna’s title track of the album.
“This is the first time we do a song with Jay-Z and Rihanna together. Actually it’s the first time Jay does anything on our beats, It was about time.‘Talk That Talk’ is a mid-tempo banger with hard drums, dirty synths, and Rihanna and Jay at their best. We are very happy with the song and Jay’s verse is crazy—same with Rihanna’s part.â€
Conrad Murray (Personal Physician To Michael Jackson) Found Guilty; Jackson Family Reacts
From MTV:
Seventeen members of Michael Jackson’s family — including his parents, brothers Jermaine and Randy and sister LaToya — were on hand Monday (November 7) in the Los Angeles courtroom when a guilty verdict was read in the involuntary manslaughter case against Jackson’s former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.
While the audible gasp heard when the verdict was read was reportedly that of Kathy Hilton — a close Jackson family friend and mom to Paris and Nicky Hilton — the family remained stoic during the proceedings and did not hold a formal press conference afterward.
Upon exiting the courthouse, Jackson’s mother told local news cameras, “Justice was served. I want to thank the jury for doing the right thing,” while brother Randy said he was “ecstatic” and Jermaine said the verdict felt “wonderful.” Latoya, wearing a black and gold jacket reminiscent of something her late brother would wear, waved her arms at the crowd in celebration and also tweeted: “VICTORY.”
TMZ reported that the family later released a statement, reading, “We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn’t hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served! We can’t wait to go home and share this day with Michael’s children.”
Dr. Murray was found guilty on one count of involuntary manslaughter and faces up to four years in jail and the loss of his medical license. He is due to be sentenced November 29.
