B.o.B Responds To Unpaid Bar Tab Allegations
According to the Cornell Daily Sun, B.o.B and his 11 guests ordered three $300 bottles of vodka and received a complimentary bottle of champagne at Level B, but when it came time to pay the bill (which also included a $160 gratuity charge), his team skipped out on the tab. “For me, I feel like whoever was responsible could’ve talked to me instead of using my name in an article. They could’ve talked to me first about it and I would’ve gladly paid the bill double for interest for not paying it,” B.o.B said.
Jedi Mind Tricks – Violence Begets Violence (Artwork & Tracklisting)
Check out the tracklisting after the jump.
We’re reinvigorated and we feel like these younger, hungrier kids put a battery in our back. Our fans deserve the best music we can make. Stoupe made great albums with us, but he’s moved in a different direction as a producer, so we decided this was the best move for us to make sure we give you guys the best music we can. Regardless, Jus and I feel like we made a great record. I’ve made plenty of other albums with other producers. You guys know AOTP. You know my solo shit. Some of you even said that my solo album was the best work I’ve done to date, including all of the JMT albums. Don’t worry, that classic hardcore JMT shit is coming on October 25th. Just trust me. I’ve never let you down in 15 years. Give us the benefit of the doubt and listen with an open mind! The music business is crazy right now.
Most artists disappear after one album or one single. We’ve been fortunate to have a 15-year run, which could’ve never happened without our fans! The last thing we want to do is to try to pull the wool over your eyes, so we wanted to let you know upfront about Stoupe, but also let you know that we’re still Jedi Mind Tricks. We still are, and always will be, making hardcore shit no matter who man’s the boards.

Is John Singleton Planning To Bring NWA To The Big Screen?
From Indiewire’s The Playlist:
In the last 10 years, John Singleton has made some unexpected choices, and perhaps as a result, his career has taken some unusual turns. Between 2001 and 2005 he revisited the ‘hood with “Baby Boy,†directed a big-league Hollywood sequel with “2 Fast 2 Furious,†and helmed the drama “Four Brothers,†but it’s taken six years for him to return to the director’s chair with the new thriller “Abduction.â€
According to online sources, Singleton has a variety of projects in development, but at the Los Angeles press day for “Abduction,†the filmmaker revealed that he may be reuniting with his “Boyz N the Hood†star Ice Cube for a project that sounds close to both of their hearts.
“I can’t talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story,†Singleton told The Playlist. “The script is really, really good, and so we’re just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.â€
The first news of a proposed N.W.A. film came in 2009 when Cube announced that he planned to produce a film about his days as a member of the influential gangsta rap group. Currently, four writers, including Andrea Berloff, S. Leigh Savidge, Alan Wenkus and Matt Alvarez, are attached to the project, and Cube is joined as a producer by David Engel, Bill Strauss, and Tomica Wright. Given New Line’s tenuous future as an arm of Warner Bros., it remains to be seen whether Singleton and Cube will be able to get the project going at the studio, much less at all. But as a publicist observed as the interview ended, “the soundtrack would be insane.†The proposed title of the film? Why, “Straight Outta Compton,†of course.

“I never made anything with the intention of signing a record deal,†she says. “It was just for fun. The moment I realized I could get a record deal, was when I got a record deal. I didn’t see myself getting famous.â€

Is that drug hangover why you disappeared after you released your second album?
I wanted to clear my head, besides detox. I had to look at the root of the whole problem, and that was work and the business. How so?
I wasn’t trying to hear it from nobody. I’m not even going to attack the people in my life that didn’t step in and try to stop it, ’cause I was just so bullheaded. There’s no way to slow somebody when they’re speeding down a path of destruction.I thought I was dealing with it in the proper way. I was in the moment. And when you’re that young, with that opportunity, all that money, and all that respect and power, sometimes you run with it. ’Cause I was like, “Man, you don’t know if this shit’s gon’ be here tomorrow.â€
