Mary J. Blige & Nicki Minaj Leak Not Real

Last night, a record titled “Feel Inside” leaked online as a MJB and Nicki collaboration. A source from Mary’s camp confirmed with Billboard that the track is unofficial and that the vocals and Wu-Tang “Triumph”-sampling track were mashed up from two separate sources.

In related news, MJB is currently peaparing her forthcoming LP, My Life 2: The Journey Continues.

Krayzie Bone Says That Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Will Reunite For Performance Purposes

From HipHopDX:
Despite April’s fallout, fans can expected BTNH to be on stage in the future, even if they no longer record new albums.
Cleveland, Ohio emcee Krayzie Bone made headlines this April when he publicly departed from multi-platinum Hip Hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The longtime spokesman for the group cited “uncontrollable circumstances” for his departure, after releasing eight studio albums with the group since their signing to Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records in the early 1990s.
In a new interview with TheWellVersed.com, Krayzie clarified his statements. The emcee revealed that he’s in frequent contact with his Bone brothers, including Bizzy Bone, who’s been estranged from the group during numerous albums and tours.
“I’ve spoken to my Bone brothers; I speak to Bizzy [Bone] almost every day, I speak to Layzie [Bone], [Flesh-N-Bone], I talk to Wish [Bone] every day,” confirmed Krayzie. “We’ll be making an announcement about us getting back together for performance purposes. I know the market is big for Bone Thugs performances. It can be even bigger with all of us together. This is true family. We’re going to fall out in public and in private, but there is nothing too big to keep us from coming back and doing business.”
The group, with Bizzy, last released Uni5: The World’s Enemy in 2010 on Warner Brothers Records.

Jimmy Henchman Pleads Not Guilty To Charges; Denied Bail

From MTV:
James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond is not backing down from the federal drug charges he’s facing.
After his arrest on Tuesday, the hip-hop manager, who once counted Game as a client, pleaded not guilty to witness tampering, obstruction of justice and intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, his lawyer confirmed for MTV News.
The not guilty plea came as expected. In an interview with MTV News on Tuesday, Rosemond’s attorney, Jeffery Lichtman, said his client was ready to take on the Feds. “These charges obviously aren’t surprising, we’ve been anticipating them for years now,” he said. “But they’re built on the backs of people that have lied and cheated, have been threatened, have been bribed by the government. Anything to get Jimmy Rosemond, but all of this is going to be exposed. We’ve been waiting a long time for our day in court — we finally have it.”
Rosemond has been on the lam since warrants were issued for his arrest on May 17. On Tuesday afternoon, Henchman was arrested after he led US Marshals and DEA agents on a foot chase across several Manhattan blocks before he was apprehended on 21st Street and Park Avenue South.

Lil’ Wayne Covers XXL & Talks Retirement

From XXL (obviously):
The Young Money leader also revealed to XXL that he plans to retire soon and hints at C4 possibly being his last offering. “I’m bowing out still on top,” he says. “I’ma make y’all want me when I retire. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’ I ain’t leaving out this bitch when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ Carter IV might be my last one. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Fuck!’ Yeah, nigga, I’m gone.”
Wayne saying being a good father to his children would be the cause for an retirement. “Honestly, this is the real truth,” he says. “I honestly think it’s unfair to my kids. I’m super dedicated into what I do. Like, it’s no questions—it’s hands down, I do this. I live this. I don’t have a day out my week that I do something else. I do this every day of my life, and I’m not about to stop, ’cause that’s the only way you can succeed in this business, is to do it the way I do it. I want to succeed the way I want to succeed. You can succeed. You can put out a hit… But to do it the way I want to do it, to be comfortable to do what the fuck I want to do, you’ve got to work like no other. Like I said, it’s unfair to my kids. So about 30, 31, 32, I gotta get ready.

A Love Affair Of Music And Fashion (W Magazine)

Spotted on 80s Purple:
If you haven’t noticed, there is a little love affair going on between fashion and music. For a while now, many designers have been greatly influenced by some of today’s greatest musicians. An example, the singer for Florence + The Machine, Florence Welch is Gucci’s creative directors current obsession. Gucci’s next collection is all inspired by Florence’s long and goddess-like dresses. While some designers get there inspiration from musicians, others are the inspiration. Singer Janelle Monae style is different and not common being that she wears suits always and never would dare to put on a dress. Some would consider it original but the truth is, Janelle was inspired by fashion’s greatest icon Coco Chanel herself. W magazine captures musicians such as Florence Welch, Janelle Monae, M.I.A., and Diplo with there fashion muses. Can you name the designers and musical muses? Check out the pictures after the jump.

Gee Roberson Appointed Chairman Of Geffen Records

Another win for the culture. From Billboard:

Gee Roberson — co-CEO of Hip-Hop Since 1978, the management firm that handles Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj and others — has been named chairman of Geffen Records, a move that Billboard.Biz reported was in the works last week. He will report to Interscope Geffen A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine.

Based in New York, Roberson will oversee the creative direction and operations of Geffen Records, with a special focus on discovering and nurturing new artists. He will also be charged with expanding the reach of the label into numerous areas, including digital direct-to-consumer, merchandising, touring and management, according to a press release.

“Gee has a unique combination of talents that the music industry really needs running a record company today,” Iovine said in a statement.

Roberson began his music industry career under the tutelage of Jay-Z at Roc-A-Fella Records, where he rose to senior VP of A&R. He later moved to Atlantic Records as senior VP of A&R, heading up the label’s urban music division.

It was unclear at press time whether Roberson will continue in his role at Hip Hop since 1978.

Federal Agents Arrest Jimmy Henchman

From the New York Post:
Hip-hop talent agent James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond was arrested by DEA agents and charged today with heading a cocaine trafficking ring that operated on both the West and East coasts, authorities said.
Rosemond, who was a wanted fugitive, was hunted down by US Marshals and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration after a long investigation, officials said.
The hip-hop mogul spotted the agents at about noon as he walked out of the W Hotel in Union Square, sources said.
Once on the street, Rosemond walked north and tried to outrun the agents until he was finally arrested on 21st Street and Park Avenue South.
The US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn charged Rosemond in a complaint today with orchestrating the delivery of multiple kilos of cocaine from Los Angeles to the New York City metropolitan area.
Millions of dollars in drug proceeds went from New York back to California, the complaint charged.
Rosemond is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in Brooklyn federal court.
The DEA probe was aided by two informants who were high-ranking members of Rosemond’s organization, the feds said.
Hundreds of kilos of cocaine was shipped to New York — sometimes encased in plastic that was covered with mustard in an effort to throw off drug-sniffing dogs.

D-Dot Angelettie Responds To Kanye West’s Credit Allegations

From HipHopDX:
Kanye West supposedly ghost-produced for Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie at the onset of his career, but turned on his mentor since his career found legs of its own. Talking with XXLMag.com, Papa Dot, also known by his rapping alias The Mad Rapper, explained that the two are on speaking terms, but he still feels like Yeezy did him wrong.
“When we see each other we shake each other hands and say what’s up, but he didn’t do right by his O.G.,” he said. “I didn’t do nothing to him. I didn’t rob him. All that ghost production shit he started and had the world makin’ ‘em think that he did everything.”
In the past, ‘Ye claimed that D-Dot wrongfully took credit for producing tracks that he helmed. D-Dot, who co-produced with Kanye on Nas’ “Poppa Was a Playa” and his track “Ghetto” featuring Raekwon and Carl Thomas, claims that the G.O.O.D. Music honcho is slandering his name.
“He’s doin’ it right now and been doin’ for the last 5 or 6 years,” D-Dot said, “so all that shit he had people believing is actually disrespectful by believing that somebody like myself would actually take his music and rob him and put my name on it like he didn’t get credit.”

50 Cent Releasing A Book On Bullying

50 cent will be releasing a novel titled, Playground, which is centered around a 13-year-old bully “who finds redemption as he faces what he’s done” and is scheduled to hit the book shelves in January 2012 release. 50 cent said:

I had a strong desire to write ‘Playground’ because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully. I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life. This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers.”

Devin White Secures Album Distribution With Universal Records

Nothing makes me happier than seeing progress like this:
After last year’s less than productive distribution venture with Interscope Records, Devin White has once again secured a major label distribution agreement, this time with Universal’s “Republic” Records. The agreement offers Devin the ability to digitally release one full album project under the label’s title, and still maintain complete creative control and direction. “This is a big step for me. Once again I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to release independent work under one of the majors. The biggest difference for me this time around is honestly reaching out to those I know that are enjoying what I do and asking for their complete support.” [White]. Devin’s brand new album, “New Nation” features completely new music that is a mild step in another direction from his last independent effort, “iCRed”. “I loved the music I created for the last record [iCRed] but honestly was not able to give it the life it deserved because I was not as adamant about requesting support for the project. The sales on Itunes under Interscope just were not enough to impress the label. I know people really enjoyed it, but purchasing a record does so much more for an artist than most would believe…especially as a independent.” [White]. Along with the exciting label venture, Devin is also preparing his transition out of the DMV in August. “It gets to a point where you realize artistically there’s so much ground to cover, and in order to play ball correctly…you gotta play with the big boys. I’ll be leaving the district in August but will remember all the support and encouragement I received along the way.” [White]. Devin will reveal more info regarding his New Album “New Nation” and the first single via his New Twitter account, @DevinLWhite and his website, Devinwhitenow.com

Nicki Minaj Allegedly Having Issues With Britney Spears Over Tour

First let me say that I really do not frequent this website, but the story is certainly relevant to Hip-Hop. I do not know for sure if this is true, either, so I suppose the facts will reveal themselves in due time. With that said, this was spotted on Media Takeout:
MediaTakeOut.com just got some CRAZY NEWS!!! According to a member of Nicki Minaj’s camp, Nicki and Britney Spears have been BUTTING HEADS during their FEMME FATALE tour . . . and on Saturday night . . . it POPPED OFF!!!.
The insider, who has been a TRUSTED MediaTakeOut.com INFORMANT in the past tells us, “[Britney] is upset that Nicki kept running over [her allotted] time. In Sacramento she was over about 10 minutes. But [on Saturday night in San Jose] Nicki went over by nearly 45 minutes.”
And Britney, being the GHETTO chick that she is – tried to STEP to Nicki and her security team. The insider added, “Britney came by Nicki’s dressing room with her [gay] dancers. They were talking sh*t like they were going to do something. Nicki came out [her dressing room] and at first was going to beat someone’s azz. But when she saw how RIDICULOUS Britney and them looked, she just laughed.”
WOW!!! We would pay MONEY to see Britney and her TWINKLE TOED dancers try and step to Nicki and her YMCMB goons!!!!
FYI – the tour is still scheduled to go on for another COUPLE OF MONTHS. Tonight they’ll be in Los Angeles. If you’re going . . . make sure you bring your CAMERA PHONES. Cause something might POP OFF on stage!!!

Amy Winehouse Has Disastrous Comeback; Cancels Future Dates

From Miss Info…..you can watch more clips of this “performance” after the jump.

Amy Winehouse’s concert in Belgrade was supposed to be her triumphant return to the stage. Instead, the troubled star stumbled on stage, mumbling through songs…disappointing fans and eliciting boos in the process. This behavior is nothing new but after checking out of rehab on June 2, everyone had hoped Winehouse was finally ready to get back to music.

Not surprisingly, Winehouse reps say she’s canceling all future tour dates until July 8: “…She has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home. She would like to apologize to fans expecting to see her at the shows but feels that this is the right thing to do.“

These video clips from Amy’s delirious performance that Gabz collected are almost unwatchable. You can tell she has absolutely no clue where she is, what is expected of her, even the natural human instinct to flee is gone. She keeps hugging the band, who look horrified and helpless. At one point she sits on a speaker with her back to the crowd. But she also smiles as if nothing is off.

Winehouse’s management reportedly banned alcohol on every floor of the Belgrade Hyatt they stayed in. And Tuborg festival organizers say the singer arrived on time for her performance, but got onstage an hour late. So somewhere in between, Amy must have gotten a hold of some really strong drink or drugs.

Master P.’s Ex-Wife Questions Mogul’s Finances In Child Support Case

From AllHipHop:
New Orleans Hip-Hop mogul Master P. may be one of the richest men in Hip-Hop according to reports, but his wife is having a hard time determining his actual net worth.
TMZ.com reports that Master P. has been ordered to pay his ex-wife $271 a month in child support, for four of his children.
Sonya Miller, Master P.’s ex-wife, is seeking to determine how much the No Limit mogul is worth and how much he is earning.
According to court documents, Master P. was ordered to pay the minimum amount for the four children, based off of an income of just $1,387 per month.
It has widely been reported that Master P. is worth anywhere between $200-300 million dollars, based off of the success of his defunct Hip-Hop label, No Limit Records.
No Limit filed for bankruptcy in December of 2003, due to various lawsuits.
The label has been relaunched as a digital imprint named The New No Limit Records, which is run by Master P.’s son Romeo Miller.
