Wake up to the sounds of your favorite artists this summer. “Good Morning America” has announced the lineup for its annual summer concert series and it includes some female megastars.

Beyoncé will fire up the stage to perform songs from her upcoming fourth album on “GMA’s Summer Concert Series.” Her fellow femme fatales Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, and Jennifer Hudson will also bring their hits to Rumsey Playfield in New York’s Central Park over the next few months. Additionally, Taio Cruz, Florence + the Machine, Selena Gomez, all Top 11 “American Idol” contestants, and more have been added to the diverse roster.

But kicking things off is Lady Gaga, performing songs from the highly-anticipated Born This Way on May 27, four days after the album’s release.

All concerts are free and open to the public, with the exception of Gaga’s ticketed event, and will take place live during “Good Morning America,” Fridays from 7 to 9 a.m. EST. Dates and additional acts will be revealed throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, NBC’s “Today” show has announced its own jam-packed lineup for their summer music extravaganza, which includes Rihanna, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, and Cee Lo Green.

And Now We Know Where The Whole Drake/D.C. Fiasco Came From…A Party For Some Rich Kid

Spotted on Fab Empire:
It looks like Drake did some party hopping while he was in the District this past weekend. According to sources, the Canadian rapper performed in a private room at the W Hotel for some excited teenage Washingtonians. Apparently, he was performing at yet another birthday party…this time for an 18-year-old. Last week, Drake performed at a bar mitzvah in New York for $250K.
And although promoters were saying Drake was going to perform at Ibiza Nightclub, apparently the rapper didn’t get the memo.

R.E.D. Album Gets a Date

AUGUST 23rd !!! Thanks for the continuous love & support. #REDnation,” he wrote.

Unlike in the past, Game promised that the new date will stick. “Just got off a conference call with Jimmy Iovine & @interscope . Aug 23rd is the release date & it’s like a FAT GIRL….. It won’t move !”

Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Cool & Dre, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Nelly Furtado, and more have contributed to the project.

Jimmy Henchman In Trouble With The Feds….Again

From AllHipHop:
Rap manager Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond is wanted by federal authorities for allegedly being involved in a cocaine distribution operation.
The New York Post reports that an arrest warrant was issued for Rosemond last week.
The rap manager, through his company Czar Entertainment, has worked with Game, Brandy, Sean Kingston and Akon, has yet to turn himself in.
Rosemond’s lawyer Jeffery Lichtman confirmed that a federal prosecutor said the warrant had been issued, but there was no copy of the warrant, or the charges provided.
Jimmy Rosemond is a well known executive in the music business, due to his high profile client roster, mainly Compton rapper Game, who infamously feuded with 50 Cent.
Rosemond himself was involved in a beef with G-Unit, when Tony Yayo and an associate allegedly assaulted his son on a street in front of Czar Entertainment’s offices.
Additionally, Tupac Shakur accused Rosemond of being complicit in his 1994 shooting inside the lobby of the Quad Recording Studio.
More recently, Jimmy Rosemond was involved with helping Wyclef Jean run for office in Haiti, in addition to supporting the current President of the country, Michel Martelly.

B’s New Album title is (4)

In a cover story for Billboard, the 29-year-old megastar revealed that her fourth solo album is called 4. “We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me,” she explained. “It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.”

Snoop Dogg Kicked Off High School Campus For Smoking Weed

From ABC News:

Snoop Dogg has been kicked out of Mira Costa High School and will not be allowed to shoot his movie there.
The rapper and actor had already begun filming his new movie, called “High School” on the South Bay campus when school officials pulled the plug.

According to the superintendent’s office, the subject matter of the movie changed after permission was given to film on campus.

The school district is giving up the $3,000 daily fee for use of the school and asking that any footage already shot there not be used.

More Updates In M-Bone’s (Cali Swag District) Murder

TMZ spoke to C Smoove and Jay Are on Monday. Click the picture for the video.
TMZ actually did get in touch with his girlfriend, apparently…
M-Bone’s girlfriend — who lived with him for more than a year — says a man living in their apartment complex was obsessed with the rapid rise of Cali Swag, and overtly hostile to M-Bone — aka, Mante Talbert.
The girlfriend — who is scared and does not want her name used — confirms M-Bone was in a Twitter war with the jealous man, which we previously reported. We’re told the jealous man made threats of violence.
The girlfriend tells us … on Sunday … she picked M-Bone up at the airport at 12:15PM and took him back to their apartment. Later that night, at around 10PM, M-Bone took her car and said he was going to the studio to record.
She tells us soon after she got a call from another member of Cali Swag with the devastating news her boyfriend had been shot.
As we first reported, the gunman fired shots as M-Bone stood near his girlfriend’s car which was parked outside an Inglewood, CA liquor store. The shooter drove a short distance, then made a U-turn and came back, presumably to see if he had hit his target.
Inglewood Police are currently investigating the shooting — so far no arrests have been made.

M-Bone (Cali Swag District) Update: Shooting May Have Been Over A Girl

From TMZ:
Our sources say M-Bone’s friends have been in touch with cops, telling investigators after he got back to L.A. from his tour, he got involved with a girl. M-Bone’s friends say a guy who lived in the woman’s building didn’t like the relationship, and allegedly began threatening M-Bone via Twitter.
We’re told M-Bone did not back down and the two men started cyber smack-talking each other.
TMZ has learned … the black car in which M-Bone was shot is registered to the woman.
Cops are trying to figure out why M-Bone was driving the woman’s car and whether the cyber war is in any way related to the shooting.
And one more important detail. Witnesses tell TMZ, the shooter fired, left, then pulled a U-turn and came back around, possibly to see if he hit his target. The upshot — it might not be random, as first suspected.

Nicki Reportedly Leaves Diddy For Hip-Hop Since 1978

A source close to Nicki Minaj has confirmed to XXLMag.com exclusively that the femcee has parted ways with Diddy and James Cruz, her managers since she left Debra Antney’s firm, and is now being managed by Gee Roberson and Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua over at Hip-Hop Since 1978. HHS1978 also has Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Jeezy and Just Blaze on its roster.
Although the reason for her departure isn’t clear, another source tells XXL that Minaj was under the impression that Diddy would be more hands-on with her career, but was disappointed when she realized it wasn’t the case.
Apparently, according to the source, there are no hard feelings between Nicki Minaj, Diddy and Cruz.

Lara Long (DJ AM’s Sister) Passes Away

TMZ spoke with Jenni Weinman, a rep for the estate and Lara’s family — who tells us, “It is with unbearable sadness that I can confirm that Lara Long, the sister to DJ AM passed away late Monday night, May 9th after a fierce four month battle with an extremely rare colon cancer.”
Weinman continues, “She was just two months shy of turning 41. Lara was responsible for keeping the memory of her brother alive with the creation of the DJ AM Memorial Fund. She was the driving force behind his eBay shoe sale as well as his record sales, working tirelessly to make sure he would not be forgotten.
“Lara was an amazing woman, with a huge personality, a heart of gold and an incredible laugh. There are no words to explain how she will be missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of the family at this most devastating of times.”

Bad Meets Evil – Hell: The Sequel (Artwork)

Absolutely sick. I have waited a decade for this. 6/14.
Update from Rosenberg’s blog:
Unveiled: the cover for Hell: The Sequel. For this one, Eminem and Royce hooked back up with The Slim Shady LP photographer Danny Hastings. Danny did the interior packaging and special edition cover shots for Em’s Interscope debut and we decided that since the Bad Meets Evil project is bringing things full circle from that time period that it would be appropriate to work with Danny on the visuals. You can peep some of Danny’s classic work and current material HERE. Be advised, this is the guy that did the classic Wu-Tang Enter: The 36 Chambers cover, Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… cover, and many others.

A BS’er Beyonce Is NOT

From Contact:
Beyonce proved she was one of the hardest working women in music when she reportedly handed over 72 new tracks to record label bosses for her upcoming album.
The Crazy In Love hitmaker is expected to drop her next project, titled 4, this summer (11) and she made sure staff at Columbia Records had plenty of material to choose from after arriving at a meeting armed with dozens of songs to play for them, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
A source says, “Label staff leave Beyonce to get on with things, they tend not to interfere when she’s making an album.
“But they weren’t prepared for the sheer volume of material she presented to them. She’s clearly been very productive. Now they have the hard job of going through all the music and deciding what will make (the album).”

M-Bone (Of Cali Swag District) Killed In Apparent Drive-By Shooting

From TMZ:

M-Bone — aka Montae Talbert from the rap group Cali Swag District — was next to his car in front of an Inglewood, CA liquor store at 11:32 PM Sunday when shots rang out.

Our sources say the shooter was driving down La Brea Avenue alone in his car when he fired. Inglewood detectives are investigating, but right now it looks like M-Bone was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We’re told M-Bone, who became famous with his group for the song, “Teach Me How to Dougie,” was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

New Yorker Interviews Odd Future’s Earl

The New Yorker found Odd Future’s puzzling  member, Earl Sweatshirt. According to Complex, Earl was shipped to a Somoan boarding school while the rest of his crew enjoying all the new fame. In an email statement below, Earl says he’s fine and wants fans to kill the”Free Earl” campaign.

“Please listen: I am not being held against my will… Initially I was really pleased that all these people claimed that they wanted me released because I thought that translated into “they care.” So time progresses and the fan base gets bigger and the “Free Earl” chants get louder but now with the “Free Earl” chants come a barely indirect “Fuck Earl’s Mom” and in the blink of an eye my worry changes from “will there still be this hype when I get back” to “Oh shit I just inspired a widespread movement of people who are dedicated to the downfall of my mom…” The only thing I need as of right now is space… Space means no more “Free Earl.” If you sincerely care then I appreciate the gesture, but since you know the hard facts from the source you no longer need to worry.”
