Premier Discusses “Mama’s Boyfriendâ€
The good folks from the VIBEhttp://www.vibe.com/video/dj-premier-says-kanye-collaboration-never-materialized-adds-last-minute-scratches-mamas-boyfri caught up with Dj Premier yesterday at his Headquarterz Studio. The producer explains how he was able to put his signature scratches on Kanye’s iTunes bonus cut, “Mama’s Boyfriendâ€, a few days before the turn in date.
“[Kanye] actually hit me the day before he had to turn the album in to do some scratches on a song called ‘Mama’s [Boyfriend],’†Premier says of a record West debuted a capella this summer at the Facebook headquarters. “We just did it like five or six days ago… They sent me a private hard drive. I had to know certain passwords and go through all these steps to get the song. Kanye even sent me an email saying ‘destroy all the roughs I sent you.’â€

MC Hammer Reponds To Jay-Z
Jay-Z Decoded Excerpts
NY Post has posted a few excerpts from Jay-Z’s 336 page publication. In the pieces below, Jay recalls his first run-in with the law and his incident with Lance “Un’ Rivera. Decoded hits bookstores on November 16th.
* His First Arrest
Jay-Z’s first arrest came at age 16. He was dealing in Trenton, because his friend “Hill†had a supplier there. Hill had enrolled in the local high school, and one day when Jay-Z went to meet him, he got caught with crack in his pockets on the campus. Since he had no prior arrests, the police let him go, but they confiscated his supply. In order to make up the cash to the supplier, Jay-Z had to go back to Marcy and deal crack 60 hours straight — three days in a row, he writes. He kept awake by “eating cookies and writing rhymes on the back of brown paper bags.â€
* The Lance Rivera incident
Jay-Z glosses over his 1999 stabbing of record producer Lance Rivera, which resulted in the rapper pleading guilty to assault and receiving three years probation. He says he was infuriated because someone had leaked a bootleg copy of “Vol. 3 . . . Life and Times of S. Carter†more than a month before the release date of the album. When he asked who was behind the leak, everyone kept repeating the same name: Rivera. When Jay-Z saw him at rapper Q-Tip’s album release party at the Kit Kat Klub, he confronted him. Rivera “got real loud with me right there in the middle of the club,†Jay-Z writes, “It was strange. We separated and I went over to the bar . . . I was . . . in a state of shock . . . I headed back over to him, but this time I was blacking out with anger. After this, chaos ensued in the club, “That night the guy went straight to the police and I was charged with assault.†He says he decided to plead guilty after watching Puff Daddy’s trial on weapons violations that same year. Puffy was acquitted, and Jay-Z says he feared the state would be harder on him after failing to convict his friend. “The hilarious thing,†he writes, “if any of this can be considered funny, is that the Rocawear bubble coat I was wearing when they paraded me in front of the cameras started flying off the shelves the last three weeks before Christmas.â€

phredDIAMOND (pronounced FRED DIAMOND) is a rare group of 3 cousins with 3 completely different views, personalities and philosophy’s on life hoping to change the world one verse at a time. “PHRED†is an acronym for “people-hardly-remember-everyone-deadâ€, using the fuel of their lost love ones as inspiration for every song as you can feel the emotions poured out into every verse chorus and hard thumping bass. They were first spotted in the Washington DC area. The group consists of Knox Diamond, Hill Will (rapper/producer) and ManiBoy (rapper/producer). Knox connects with his brain to make stomping witty lyrics while, Hill Will is known for his for his unorthodox breath-taking choruses and ManiBoy is known for his southern dialect and trunk banging bass. They are known as people’s first contact wit pre-classical music. At an undisclosed location on top of a dresser during their first attempt of rapping they became a group. Ever since then they have not been able to stop rapping but it wasn’t until June 4, 2010 they released their first mix tape entitled NOWALATERS. The undertone of the title is that that listeners will either become instant fans now or will become fans later overtime, but either way somehow phredDIAMOND makes it into your speakers. phredDIAMOND represents the [DC] area (DC/MD/VA) a place that isn’t noticed in the music scene especially in rap/hip-hop genre, but it has too much life for no one to speak about it. “We make songs about our adventures and discoveries in our areaâ€. Wipe the fries off the seat and get in. The music is designed to put you in a 99’ Crown Vic and take you on a tour of the [DC]. “We aren’t here to lecture you down. We are just 3 average brothers with a gift for making music. If you can connect, then come and rock with us.â€

T-Pain Addresses MJ Remake Criticism
After remaking the King of Pop’s “PYT†for Quincy’s Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, Pain’s been the subject of much criticism. He turned to his Twitter account and addresses the “hatersâ€.
For all the ppl that hate mr for ruining pyt just stop listening to my shit. But if Quincy jones tell you he want you to do something, no matter how much shot you know ur gonna get from the dumb asses in the world, you god damn do it. The fucked up thing is everybody being so kind to mj after he’s gone, but how can you wish a man to rest in peace when you never gave him peace in a life time? I had the pleasure of meeting MJ and when I left his house I got a call from his lawyer telling mr that MJ wanted me to remake that song. So everybody that’s being overly disrespectful, you don’t have to like me at all, but you also can keep that bullshit to yourself. Like I said I’m making it my job to stay positive on twitter but this is why the image of my ppl is so fucked up cuz we all are to envious and jealous of each other to get passed anything. In conclusion, if you don’t like what I do then stop listening to it, if somebody tells you that my shit is wak, why would you go and try to find it? Just stay off my timeline and my dick and get YO shit together, obviously I’m str8 yasimelike.
