Tho the release date (for all intents & purposes) for Pink Friday is 11.23.10 , it will be made available everywhere on 11.22.10. Albums are generally released on Tuesdays but in rare instances Record Companies will “break street date†and release on Monday implemented by the Record Company, I am neither happy nor upset by this minor change. ThankYou. I know it was posted on blogs but I wanted 2 confirm as I’ve been receiving lots of questions on it. Hope that clears up the confusion
CMJ Showcase in NYC
The showcase will take place at Sullivan Hall in the West Village section of Manhattan on Thursday, October 21st and will feature a number of hip-hop acts, including headliner Black Sheep. Joining Black Sheep and The Niceguys will be Audible Treats clients Nottz, Diamond District, Rah Digga, Big Pooh and The Hall Of Justus (Chaundon, Joe Scudda, Jozeemo), Von Pea, Chip Fu, Moe Green, DaVinci, and The Left.
Admission is 18 and up.

Jay-Z Decoded Ad Campaign
Starting today, text from Jay-Z’s lyric book Decoded will be featured in locations throughout NYC, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami and London until the release Nov. 16th. The pages will be located in areas corresponding to each excerpt.
“If in certain pages Jay-Z is talking about something related to Times Square, then those pages might be on billboards in Times Square,†said David Droga, creative chairman Droga5, the New York agency heading the campaign.
Fans will be also be able to find them through Bing/Jay-Z and will be eligble to attend Hov’s New Years Eve concert in Las Vegas. Happy hunting.

Today MTV Kicks off their Top 10 Hottest MCs In The Game list. Coming in at #10 is ATL’s own, Ludacris. Some names that had a big year but did not make the cut include Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Lloyd Banks, Bun B & Fabolous.

Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder Kareem “Biggs†Burke Arrested on Federal Drug Charges
Kareem “Biggs†Burke, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, which launched the career of superstar rapper Jay-Z, was among 43 people arrested today in a massive drug sweep spanning from New York to South Florida, authorities said.
Also nabbed was Matthew Stang, a writer and senior ad rep at High Times magazine, a well-known chronicle of chronic culture.
“In the case of the High Times employee, it’s a case of art imiitiating real life,†said Jim Hayes special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Burke was nabbed early this morning by ICE agents at his home in North Bergen, NJ, Hayes said.
The 18-month investigation into the vast narcotics network – headed by Geovanny “Manny†Rodriguez Perez – resulted in $1 million in seized profits and 177 pounds of marijuana, Hayes said.
At least another seven people are expected to be arrested as a result of the operation, dubbed “Green Venom,†he said. Investigators used state and federal wiretaps to catch the drug smugglers, authorities said.
According to the Post these guys “controlled the marijuana market in NYCâ€. I don’t know how accurate that is, but in any event, Biggs is looking at some pretty hefty legal bills over the next couple of years. Not to be selfish, but I hope this doesn’t cause a drought in the Tri-State…

Lupe Fans Gather For Fiasco Friday
Lupe Fiasco fans are coming together today to celebrate the March 8, 2011 release date of Lasers. Initially the gathering was to protest against the delay of the project. The photos were taken near Central Park, but the mob is expected to bring their show in front of the Atlantic Records.

Jumper’s Mother Thanks T.I.
On Wednesday, Tip rescued a suicidal jumper and spoke on the incident. Yesterday, the jumper’s mother got in touch with Atlanta’s V-103 also denied the encounter was a publicity stunt and thanks T.I. for his assistance.
I wish it was a publicity stunt and my son wasn’t hurting as bad as he is and to get up there and do something like that. It’s an embarrassment really and it’s like my God, thank God for T.I!! So I’m just saying that it’s crazy for people to think that someone would do that as a publicity stunt. It just bothers my mind.
My son was on top of the roof. I was speaking to an officer on the phone. He would not come down while I was on the phone because I was still at work and I need to try and keep my job, okay. That’s part of my son’s problem, he can’t find work in Atlanta and he has other issues/problems. He’s thinking that’s where it ends and that’s when it hit, he didn’t want to live any more.
