IDK Covers SMV in Tribute to His Mother

We shall let IDK speak on this himself (below). RIP Julia Lynch.

Today is my mother’s birthday. As some of you know, I lost my mother on March 3rd, 2016. It’s something I struggled with for some time and until this album, I haven’t been able to tell anyone how she passed. My album “Is he real” is the first time I keep it 100% about what took her away. Part of me wants to dwell in the fact that I won’t get to see her in this lifetime. The other part of me wants to celebrate her life. It all depends on the day.
Today I chose to do a cover of a song that she use to love in order to celebrate her life and the life of others we’ve lost. This is the first time anyone will hear me sing like this and whether you like it or not, this makes ME feel good/better. Today I’m sharing something special with you and if you’ve ever lost anyone, use this song/moment to reflect on the positivity and let out any emotion you might be feeling towards your loss. RIP Mom, RIP Dad, RIP STP. 🙏🏾

Black Fortune – “McDeez” (Video)

As told to Hypebeast, who premiered the release:

“McDeez is the first new track off the recently released OsshRock (Deluxe) tape… There is a strong bike life scene and culture in the DMV and my license is suspended so I have to turn up on the 4 wheeler to get around. Video directed by Tyler B Studios x Pearl House. The song is produced by a 14 years old Swedish producer, Maxx. There are a few more visuals off the OsshRock Deluxe tape dropping soon and new project scheduled to release Fall 2019.”

David Correy & Gordo Brega – ‘Algo Nuevo’ (Stream); “Dive” (Video)

Something we missed but must bring attention to: two of the D.C. area’s long-standing artists, David Correy and Gordo Brega, have come together to create a Latin-themed project titled Algo Nuevo (Something New). In addition to the Spanglish 8-track offering comes a cinematic visual for the track “Dive,” courtesy of High Life Media and Ben Lee Foster. Check out both below, along with Brega’s latest single “Hot Girl,” produced by Mark Henry and featuring Dubwork..
