Life & Rhymes: ScHoolboy Q (Video)

Cool thing: you can get your fill of Oxymoron through Google Play, where the above feature is derived from.

With his major label debut, Oxymoron, Los Angeles rapper Schoolboy Q paints a bleak and relentless portrait of an artist on the come up. As a product of the same TDE camp that birthed Kendrick Lamar, Q has built a rep as a purveyor of aggressive and craft-oriented hip-hop while also maintaining a humorous streak. Google Play recently sat down with him, as well as his crew, to talk about the making and meaning of Oxymoron.

Terrace Martin – Live With Robert Glasper, Malcolm-Jamal Warner & Chris Dave (Part 1)

No words for how ill this is….Terrace Martin held a post-Valentine’s Day performance (along with the aforementioned artists) at The Del Monte Speakeasy in Venice, CA. Check out what he had to say below (and check out an additional clip below:

What made this show so special is there was a very powerful creative energy in the room. One of my Dear friends and Grammy Award Winner Robert Glasper hosted the event and also played keys. Another Grammy Award Winner Ronald Bruner, on drums. He’s one of my favorite drummers and we have been playing together since I was 14. Marlon Williams on guitar, one of L.A.’s most recorded and studio favorite. Ethan Farmer on bass, who plays with the likes of Lionel Richie and every other great pop Artist, and a fleet of other artist came through to grace the stage. Maclom Jamal-Warner with a poem about hoodrats, Kamasi Washington & Ben Wendel on Tenor Sax, Wyann Vaughn on Vocals and Chris “Daddy” Dave’s on drums. Talk about a musical high. Wow!!!

Kanye West Almost Flips Out When A Pen Comes To Close To His Expensive White Sweater

From TMZ:

NEVER APPROACH KANYE WEST WITH A PEN — especially if he’s wearing a fancy sweater — because after Yeezy’s reaction in Paris this evening, you might as well be waving a knife in his face.

Kanye was leaving dinner moments ago when an autograph seeker asked the rapper for some love — holding out a pen … and a sneaker to sign.

The pen came within inches of Kanye’s pristine white sweater — and Yeezy nearly lost it.

You gotta see it. Ye’s reaction is almost worth as much as his threads.
