On Saturday, Cash Money CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams invited MTV News to Chalice Recording Studio, so we can look on as he surprised Ace and presented him with his first-ever gold plaque commemorating sales of over 500,000 units. “Seeing this plaque just reminds me of where I came from and where I’m going. It just feels good man,” Ace said after his label head presented him with the gift.

Birdman also invited Future, who arrived with Mike Will, neither had any idea that when they arrived at the studio that they would be greeted with a plaque or by our cameras. Future, who contributes the song’s energetic hook, was taken back by Baby’s gesture. “It takes your breath away sometimes when you look at things like this plaque and knowing where you come from,” he said. “You start reminiscing about days when you were down and out.”
