Eminem – Shady 45 Town Hall Meeting (Full Interview)

eminem-sway-

On Monday, Eminem appeared on his radio station Shade 45 for a “town hall” style interview with host Sway. During the interview, Eminem talked about trying to be the best rapper out, winning the YouTube Artist Of The Year award, not being into social media, his rapping style, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ verse, his new album, his crazy flow on ‘Rap God’, Pharoahe Monch’s skills, his hometown of Detroit and more.

MMLP2 is in stores now and is expected to sell 700-750k in its first week. Listen to the full interview below.

Eminem Speaks On Rihanna Collaboration With Sway

Sway interviewed Eminem at a town hall-style at his Shade 45 radio station yesterday which will air today at 12 pm. Eminem discussed working on ‘The Monster’ with Rihanna.

“As soon as I got the beat I just heard her on it,” Em said. “I wanted to make sure that I had it finished first to be able to present to her, but once I had the rhymes done, I sent it to her.”

Eminem – DJ Whoo Kid Interview

Eminem called into DJ Whoo Kid’s show on Shade 45 a little while ago. He discussed working with Rick Rubin, loving the 80s Hip-Hop and how how it was so Rock influenced, working with Rihanna again & her unique vocals, collaborating with Kendrick Lamar (reveals he recorded with Kendrick a week or two before ‘Control’ verse came out) and staying loyal to Dr. Dre.

TEASER: Eminem – Don’t Front

In what is probably the best song I’ve heard of Eminem’s new project, we get to hear a quick snippet of a bonus track that is not only an extra gift with The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (due next week), but unlockable with the edition of a purchased Call Of Duty: Ghosts, which drops on the same day (you can get more info here).

Additional good news: Buckshot is also supposed to be featured on the song as well.

ALBUM STREAM: Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP 2

If I had to do a review on this album, I would have to say that — and I’m saying this about my absolute favorite emcee of all time — The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is heartbreakingly terrible. Aside from an interesting message toward his mother, the album literally has the potential of sabotaging the legacy of his entire catalog.

But that’s not the point of this post……through iTunes, you have the opportunity to listen and critique the album for yourself before it hits stores next week. Enjoy.

I’m not really sure if this is the official artwork or not, but it looks cool. Courtesy of the All Out Show on Shade 45, here is a radio rip of Eminem’s latest single featuring Rihanna. Marshall Mathers LP this ain’t.

Gay Rappers Criticize Eminem For “Rap God” Lyrics

eminemreading

AllHipHop reports:

Two openly gay performers released statements about what they view as homophobic slurs on the track. One of those critics, singer-songwriter/rapper Solomon, had previously appeared on Eminem’s satellite radio channel Shade 45.

“When he invited me on his radio station a few years ago, I thought he put all of this aside,” stated Soloman. “He’s using the word f*ggot to degrade another man. As if the worst thing a man can be is gay. What type of message does that embed into the minds of young kids, both gay and straight?”

“He’s a lil’ too old to be using gay and f*g and sh*t as an insult; playground  s**t,” added Soloman’s labelmate and fellow openly gay rapper LastO. “It’s ironic because I’m sure when he was coming of age, more black folks walked over him…than anyone gay ever did.”

Eminem becomes the latest rap star to face heavy criticism this year over lyrical content that some have found offensive. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and J. Cole have all had to apologize at one point during 2013 for particular references and choice of words from one of their verses.

Eminem Shares New Details On ‘MMLP2′ With Rolling Stone

eminemrollstone

Eminem shared some new information on his upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 with Rolling Stone. Below is the except from the interview that is set to hit newsstands November 7th. MMLP2 hits stores November 5th.

On his approach to the album:

[‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ is] not necessarily a sequel, as much as it is a revisitation. So there’s not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that. To me, it’s more about the vibe, and it’s more about the nostalgia.

On pressures and process of making the album:

Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations. I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs — and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘F*ck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.
