STREAM: Awthentik – Nothing More Nothing Less
Awthentik is definitely a true gem when it comes to D.C.’s creatives: the multi-talent is just as adept behind the boards as he is in front of the microphone. To prove this, all one needs to do is take a listen to his impressive discography, which (as of 1:11pm today) now includes a brand new release for you to enjoy. Titled Nothing More Nothing Less, Awthentik’s latest is a project that delivers Hip-Hop both at its most intense and its most soulful (trust: many of these tracks will need endless listens to peel back layers of in-depth storytelling and emotionally-charged introspection).
Vibe to Nothing More Nothing Less below, which sees 16 tracks and appearances from Cane and Wes Felton. Those interested in the engineering and production side of Awthentik (and you should be after hearing this album) can head here for more information.
Konshens – I’m So DC
Hometown vet Konshens has blessed the world with a hard-hitting track titled “I’m So DC,” which is described as “a journey through the Nations Capital” and “a song dedicated to city I call home.” If you’re not familiar with Konshens, the Petworth emcee also broke down his history to us via email:
With a musical background rooted in “Go-Go” (as a very young kid) having my first performances at Cease Fire Don’t Smoke the Brothers, The Zulu Cave, The IceBox, La Pena, The Palace (Kennedy Street) to name a few, it’s only right that the homage is presented over the music that represents DC culture. If you have never visited the “nations cap,” one must realize that this city is much more than downtown and monuments, but rather a place so rich in art, diversity, opportunity and a love for Go-Go. I’m so DC.
Check it out below.
