J. Cole Responds To “I Disappointed Nas”

Courtesy of SoulCulture:

On Wednesday (May 22nd), Dreamville/Roc Nation’s North Carolina hailing rap wunderkid J. Cole sat down with us and a select number of publications to give us a preview of his forthcoming album Born Sinner.

Following the playback, word travelled like wildfire and rumours of a track dedicated to the reaction of rap veteran and J. Cole’s idol Nas, which according to much respected Hip Hop DJ Peter Rosenberg was ‘called something along the lines of “I Disappointed Nas”‘ and as is the nature of the internet that became the official title of the song on several blogs and web magazines.

Well, during our interview with Jermaine last night (May 23rd), the subject of the info leak and reported title came up and Mr Cole World had a message he wanted us to share…

J. Cole Discusses Kanye West Competition & “Born Sinner”

J. Cole sits down with FuseTV to discuss his upcoming album Born Sinner which he finally turned in to the label for final submission. He recently pushed the album up to June 18th, feeling confident in his body of work to challenge Kanye’s new album Yeezus. Esteban of Fuse went on to say that Kanye West fans normally tend to be J. Cole fans, and Cole himself admitted to being a die-hard Yeezy fan. He went on to say that this isn’t like the Kanye-50 match since they both released major albums at the same time, but stated he’s more a LeBron James-esque artist coming into the game to challenge an established Kobe Bryant champion in Kanye West.
