Jeezy Finally Speaks On Homie’s Death At The Hands Of Gucci Man

jeezy-gucci

If you’re familiar with Jeezy and Gucci Mane’s long-standing (and very real beef), you can read about it here. At its worst point, one of Jeezy’s people — Pookie Loc — lost his life; this was apparently after he was (allegedly) sent out be Jeezy to rob, attack (or kill) Gucci Mane, who ended up killing Loc in defense.

Jeezy’s new album Church In These Streets has a track titled ‘Forgive Me’, which sees the Atlanta rapper opening his heart and apologizing to many of those close to him — one of those was Pookie Loc:

Rest in peace to Pookie Loc blame it on me never snitching
Lord knows I ain’t send the homie on no dummy mission

Courtesy of Genius, Jeezy also broke down the line:

I never spoke on it and over the years it’s something that bothered me because I felt I was never able to explain the situation because that’s against the G-Code.

I just wanted to put that in the air like, “Lord knows I would never send homie on no dummy mission.” I got too much love.

But as a real G and a real man, I’m gonna let it stay where it’s at. You can make your assumptions, throw your rocks and stones as you may.

JEEZY ANNOUNCES NEW CHAMPAGNE PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT COINED
“PROJECT GOLD BOTTLES”

Newly Released Track, “Gold Bottles,” Inspired by Project

ATLANTA, SEPTEMBER 30, 2015 — Jay Jenkins, better known as the multi-platinum hip-hop artist and entrepreneur JEEZY, announces his development of a new luxury champagne brand. As with most projects in the development phase, this initiative comes with an alias. The new project has been coined “Project Gold Bottles.” The project has served as the inspiration behind Jeezy’s recently released song “Gold Bottles,” from his forthcoming album.

Known to enjoy ultra-premium tequila and high quality champagne, Jeezy has always had the passion to develop a special drink. After being nudged by several industry leaders in the champagne space to create a new brand, Jeezy recognized it was time to put a stake in the ground and begin the development of a champagne. Jeezy’s first step was reaching out to friend Ken Austin, the founder of Tequila Avion and a well-known, successful entrepreneur and spirits and beverage expert, to partner on his venture.

“I have long loved high-end tequila and champagne and this love has inspired me to create a rich, full bodied champagne that represents my passion. I am fortunate to have a partner like Ken whose entrepreneurial track record includes my favorite ultra-premium tequila,” said Jeezy. “Ken has a deep understanding of the drinks space and several luxury categories that I know will be invaluable to growing this business. I look forward to bringing a luxury champagne to my fellow artists and fans in the near future.”

Jeezy will continue to act as multicultural advisor to Austin as it relates to his tequila brand, Tequila Avion. Avion has been a national player for four years and is already a top 3 selling ultra-premium tequila brand in the world. Avion was voted world’s best tasting tequila at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

“Gold Bottles” will be featured on Jeezy’s forthcoming album Church in the Streets, out November 13th. The song, produced by London On Da Track, follows the release of the tracks “God” and “Church in these Streets.” The three tracks can be listened to at www.JeezySundayService.com.

Over the course of his legendary career, Jeezy has sold more than 5 million albums worldwide and has had multiple chart-topping hits. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Jeezy’s seminal debut solo album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, which pioneered the genre of trap music. Proving that Jeezy has immense longevity, he released his fifth studio album, Seen it All, on September 2014, which was his first LP in nearly three years and marked the third No. 1 Soundscan debut of his career.
