Lil’ B Disses Joey Bada$$; Joey Bada$$ Responds

Remember ‘Survival Tactics‘? I’m sure you do….in it, Capital STEEZ has a fairly humorous line toward the Based God:

“They say hard work pays off/Well tell the Based God don’t quit his day job”

You can check out the track — titled ‘I’m The Bada$$’ and taken from his upcoming project Pink Flame — above….Joey responds below.

Joey Bada$$ Denies Roc Nation Rumors

Joey Bada$$ shuts down any immediate hopes that Hov is signing him to his label….unless he puts out that 3 million. From The Source:

“They actually announced it on the radio that I signed with them — that was dumb as f*ck,” Joey said in an interview. “Won’t sign to no major, for no wager, less than a 3 million offer of the top, I be in a box when my coffin drops, why settle for an office spot? That type of thing, you know. Not really, major labels is just not where my head is at right now, you know? [Independent?] Yeah, that’s more of where my head is at, ’cause that’s what I’m tryna to do, I’m tryna go more independent.”

@JOEYBADASS_ & @REALDJPREMIER In The Studio (Video)

It is no secret Joey Bada$$ is inspired by ’90s golden era hip-hop. His debut mixtape 1999 (via Cinematic Music Group) showcased his love for the decade and the legends it spawned. When Green Label Sound heard about Joey’s admiration for the legendary DJ Premier, we couldn’t pass up getting these two together for a track.

The result out of DJ Premier’s HeadQCourterz Studio is “Unorthodox,” in title and execution. “Unorthodox” is a unique track that Joey dedicates to real hip-hop fans and his Pro Era collective. Get a sneak peek of the track in the video above. “Unorthodox” available for download January 14, 2013 from Green Label Sound.
