Justin Timberlake Scores 1-Hour Special With The CW

Continuing with his extremely aggressive promo campaign for The 20/20 Experience (in stores March 19th), Justin Timberlake will now have a concert special of the channel that everyone kind of forgot about. From L.A. Times:

The network that’s home to eternally youthful vampires and a chiseled bowman will air the music special titled “Target Presents the IHeartRadio Album Release Party With Justin Timberlake” (breathe here) on March 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT (an encore will air March 22).

The special will feature the 32-year-old pop star discussing the making of his long-anticipated new album “20/20 Experience” — a preview of which is already making the rounds on iTunes — along with performances filmed during the release party at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. O, and an eight-minute music video, will be thrown in for good measure.

Justin Timberlake On ‘SNL’; Did He Return Fire & Diss Kanye West?

So, as you probably saw just about everywhere in advance, Justin Timberlake made his return to Saturday Night Live both as host and performing act; as far as the performing part, he shut it down with both ‘Mirrors’ & ‘Suit & Tie’, the latter backed by feature Jay-Z. Below, you’ll find the former as well as skits Justin jumped into.

Above is his blend with Hov, and while watching you’ll notice that he changed up a lyric in the song, from “shit so sick / Got a hit and picked up a habit” to “My hits so sick / Got rappers acting dramatic.” Who else could he really be referring to, other than the guy who ain’t f’n with his record?

Spotted on That Grape Juice:

On March 9th, Justin will hit ‘Saturday Night Live’ to both host and perform in a bid to push the project.

However, in what he hope teaches his contemporaries a thing or two about promoting a project properly, he is scheduled to perform on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon‘ every day of the week, for a stint beginning on March 11th and ending on the 15th.

All this, to leave no promotional stone unturned before the launch of the project- which is set for release on the 19th.

Would you pay to see this? From Rolling Stone:

Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z are planning a major stadium tour this summer, sources involved in the negotiations tell Rolling Stone. While talks are still ongoing, the tour as currently planned would include 11 to 13 stadium dates.

Timberlake hinted Saturday on Twitter that something was in the works, writing, “Big news coming after Justin’s Grammys performance.” According to the New York Post, Timberlake said, somewhat vaguely, on the red carpet before the Grammys, “We’re definitely going to go on tour . . . I don’t know how much I should say. . . . It’s going to be a lot of fun, I know that.”
