According to E! News, Odom opened his eyes on Friday and saw Khloe Kardashian, his estranged wife. He said “Hey, baby,” to her before giving her a thumbs up and falling back asleep.

A source has also said that Odom is off the breathing tube.

This is good news for Odom’s friends and family, as doctors told them that Odom had likely suffered multiple strokes and that there was a chance of severe mental or physical impairment, especially the longer he remained unresponsive.

Kardashian, along with several of her family members and Odom’s father, his children and their mother, has been in Nevada since soon after Odom was discovered unconscious in a Nevada brothel.

Lamar Odom is breaking his silence with his first post on Twitter since the NBA star was arrested and charged with driving under the influence last month.

Odom tweeted “Seeing the snakes” on Tuesday night in his first post since his Aug. 30 arrest.

He followed with an extended tweet from his verified account that referenced his estranged father [who also decided to give his two cents on the matter earlier, blaming the Kardashians for what’s been going on with his son].

“Won’t continue 2 speak on this but I have got 2 let this out real quick. I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of (expletive). He wasn’t there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons. My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me,” Odom tweeted.

He went on to credit the family of his wife Khloe Kardashian for being “the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time. Only person 2 blame is myself. Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this! This goes out to everyone!”

Odom has been mostly silent on Twitter for nearly three months, although on July 12 he tweeted in part, “Wifey is real,” a reference to Kardashian.

Odom, who played for the Los Angeles Clippers last season, is a free agent and has yet to sign with a team. NBA training camps open next week.

According to US Magazine, Lamar Odom was seen in public last night for the first time since leaving rehab late last week. He was spotted leaving his downtown Los Angeles loft with an unidentified male pal. Lamar Odom made a stop for dinner at a nearby sushi restaurant in Los Angeles, Wokcano.

Lamar Odom fell deep into the world of hardcore drugs during a wild summer in Hollywood … where he spent as much as $1,000 in a single day to fuel his growing addiction to crack — according to sources familiar with the situation.

TMZ broke the story Lamar was hooked on crack — but now we’ve learned just how bad it got in the last few months.

We’re told Lamar’s habit picked up speed when he moved out of his home with Khloe Kardashian, and into Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel with a friend in late May … after the NBA season ended.

We’re told the hotel room was used like a flop house … where Lamar was surrounded by his pal and 7 or 8 other drug abusers — strangers — who came in and out of the room throughout the day and night … for several months straight.

According to sources, Odom was dropping — on average — $800 per day, but sometimes more, for multiple drugs, including crack.

By the way, if $800 worth of crack sounds like a huge amount of drugs for one person … it is. But we’re told Lamar sometimes shared his huge score. Plus, drug dealers often charge rich customers premium prices.

As we first told you, Khloe kept Lamar’s drug addiction secret for at least 2 years — but after this summer she decided enough was enough … telling him if he didn’t get treatment, she would pull the plug on their marriage.

Lamar Odom’s drug dealer told Radaronline, that he has smoked more than $50,000 worth of cocaine in the past three years – including one wild binge before an NBA game just six months ago .

When asked if he’d ever eye-witnessed Odom smoking or freebasing cocaine, the man recounted one instance when he said the E! reality star was higher than a kite.
“Specifically, I want to say [it was] February of 2013,” he said. “He was in New York. For other reasons, I don’t really want to give the specific location of the place … sounds weird that I want to keep a level of discretion at this point, but, he was in New York. He comes to New York a lot.”
Shockingly, the dealer claimed that cocaine spree actually took place before the Clippers’ 14-point win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 10.
Odom played 22 minutes in the subsequent game, scoring two points and snaring seven rebounds and five assists.
“I know it for a fact because I sold him the stuff and saw him smoke it,” the man said. ”He spent about 16 grand.”
“In one sitting?” Radar probed.
“More or less, yeah,” the dealer responded. When quizzed what $16,000 would get Odom, the man flatly stated: “It gets you pretty f**ked up.”

NBA veteran Lamar Odom was arrested early Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police.

Odom was taken into custody at 3:54 a.m. local time after he was spotted driving “in a serpentine manner at 50 mph” on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, the California Highway Patrol report said.

The police report stated that Odom continued to drive when authorities tried to pull him over before he eventually stopped. Odom showed “objective signs of intoxication and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated,” the CHP report said. At the Van Nuys jail, Odom refused all chemical tests and was booked without incident at 5:01 a.m., CHP officials said.

Multiple media outlets reported Odom’s arrest earlier Friday.

Odom made headlines earlier this week for alleged drug use. A source told ESPN that Odom was staying at a Los Angeles hotel and friends were trying to help him deal with a drug problem. TMZ had reported that he was missing for 72 hours after a fight with his wife, Khloe Kardashian Odom. Odom’s agent refuted a TMZ report Sunday.

Odom spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers and has been pursued in free agency this summer by the Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Multiple NBA-connected sources tell TMZ … the big problem is that the league is only allowed to test players 4 times during a season. Because testing is randomized, the last test can be administered as early as January, and the season lasts for months thereafter. As one recently-retired NBA player put it, after the 4th test, “It’s like Christmas Day. We can take whatever we want.”

One NBA-connected source says pot is “ubiquitous” in the sport. The source adds, however, that most athletes who indulge do so in moderation so it doesn’t have a perceptible impact on their performance. An NBA rep tells us … weed is not only prevalent, it’s hardly hidden — he says the hotel rooms where the players stay, and even the halls, have the telltale smell.

The players we’ve spoken with all agree … pot is prevalent. But some of the players say Lean — Sprite and Codeine cough syrup — has become a recreational drug of choice during the season. One player said it was even used during the recent playoffs.

One current and famous player tells TMZ, he estimates 30% of his fellow NBAers use hard drugs — including Molly, Ecstasy, and Lean — at some point during the season. He says he’s never been aware of anyone doing cocaine during the season.

Another current and famous player tells us he estimates only 10% of NBA players use hard drugs, and no one uses cocaine during the season — it’s too risky. He also says Lean is a drug of choice.

An NBA source agrees — he estimates 10-15% of the players use hard drugs during the season.

One NBA insider believes the drug use problem has gotten better over the last 5 years because of social media. He says players have been burned because pictures of them doing things they shouldn’t be show up on Instagram and Facebook, and it’s inhibited them.

TMZ broke the story … Lamar has gone off the rails with drug use … which is the principal cause of the crisis in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian. As we reported Lamar went to a rehab facility a year ago this month and stayed for 3 weeks before bailing — and we’re told the problem was crack.

Sources say Lamar’s crack use was extreme before he went to rehab, but he cleaned up his act during the basketball season that just ended. Sources say shortly after he hung up his jersey, he started again with a bang.

As we reported … Khloe threw Lamar out of the house a few days ago after he rejected an attempt at an intervention.

It’s unclear how Lamar’s problem will affect his basketball career.
