Uptown, DC artist Lil Tay sat down with JUKEBOX:DC to speak on his CBE movement, upcoming music (including a heater with Kevin Gates) and much more.
Lil Tay – Anticipation (The Mixtape)
Just shortly after releasing Chuuurchonometry with co-conspirator UPT Killa, CBE’s Lil Tay is back with Anticipation, a solo mixtape compilation of what Tay has been up to lately; hard-hitting, catchy trap tales (produced by Rick Flare, mixed by Tweeze, hosted by Saysay.) Features from the rest of CBE/Pac Mob, Glizzy Gang and ShaqJames. Do I need to say anything more?
CBE – Chuuurchonometry Vol. 1 (Hosted by Bigga Rankin)
Last week, CBE’s Uptown Killa and Lil Tay celebrated the release of their new mixtape, Chuuurchonometry Volume 1, hosted by Bigga Rankin. Today, we have an exclusive stream of the project. Rick Flare produced the majority of these songs, helping to craft a unique sound with Tay and Killa. Chuuurchonometry Vol. 1 isn’t quite “Trap Rap” or more traditional “Hip Hop.” CBE’s sound is somewhere in-between and unique, Street Rap with two distinct voices and stories over original production. This is the new Uptown sound. The mixtape is available for purchase on iTunes, with hard copies also available. If you like it, purchase a copy.
Shy Glizzy, Wale, Fat Trel, Garvey, Lightshow, Boobe & Lil Tay talk Uniting DC
Tonight, Shy Glizzy took to Twitter to ask most of the biggest names in D.C. Rap about uniting and try to end disputes in the city. Aside from a reported spike in violence this year, a number of past disputes have caused problems between a number of these men, some less public than others. Here’s hoping they can put all of that behind them and that D.C. can start empowering itself.

Lil Tay from CBE turns Future’s “March Madness” into his own in front of the lense of FoolwiththeCamera.
Lil Tay & Uptown Killa (CBE) – Servin’ Ft. Shy Glizzy (Prod. by Rick Flare)
This song has been sitting in the drafts folder here because we aren’t sure what to say about it. Lil Tay and UPT Killa of CBE have had a meteoric rise locally and it’s only a matter of time before they get some national focus. “Servin” has them fitting Shy Glizzy perfectly in to their new single produced by the always-present Rick Flare. Support and buy the track on iTunes now.
