Little Mix – Word Up!

Little Mix have created a new single for BBC’s Sports Relief campaign (you can check out pics of their work in Liberia above), of which the sales of the single will go towards easing poverty in some of the world’s poorest nations.

‘Word Up!’ is officially released 16th March — you can show your support and preorder on iTunes. Check out a stream of the track below (it probably won’t be around for long).

PICS: Little Mix In Fault Magazine

The sexy quartet were recently spotted in some snapshots for their feature in Fault Magazine. Check them out above….you can also check out more from the feature here. Fault Winter ’13/’14 issue is on newsstands now.

Formed in 2011 on the 8th series of The X Factor, Little Mix went on to become the first band to win the competition. Signing first for Simon Cowell’s Syco Records, they released their first album ‘DNA’ in 2012. Since then, Little Mix have toured the world, winning praise for both their music and their relentless self-respect in a genre where fame is all too often dependent on a lack of clothing. New album ‘Salute’ was released in November to rave reviews, winning universal critical acclaim. Perrie, Jade, Leigh-Anne and Jesy caught up with FAULT magazine (12 page feature!) to reflect on their success and reveal what made them turn to the dark side…

Little Mix (@LittleMixOffic) Feat. Missy Elliott (@MissyElliott) – How Ya Doin’?

The above track, which was originally featured on Little Mix’s album DNA (and represents the project’s 4th single) has now received an American boost from none other than Virginia’s Missy Elliott for the single version. Check it out above along with the lyrics below.

Lyrics:
Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

Ain’t got no time for what you think can be described as love
How could you hold on me, you’re missing me, I’ve had enough
It’s been so long since you have treated me like I deserved
So long, baby I’m gone, you can leave a message for me after the tone

You called, I missed it
You called, I missed it,
You called, and I missed it,
Never get back in, tired of listenin’

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

I’m through will wish the things with you and me could be so good
Time to wake up or no make ups got make me fool
Too much history now it comes down to what things
So alone, baby I’m gone, you can leave a message for me after the tone

You called, I missed it
You called, I missed it,
You called, and I missed it,
Never get back in, tired of listenin’

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

Ah, Ah, Ah,
Number
Ah, Ah, Ah,
Number

You called, I missed it
You called, I missed it,
You called, and I missed it,
Never get back in, tired of listenin’

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

Hey, how ya doin’? Sorry you can’t get through
Why don’t you leave your name and your number
And we’ll get back to you

(Never get back, never gonna get back)
Ah, Ah, Ah,
(Never get back, never gonna get back)
Number
(Never get back, never gonna get back)
Ah, Ah, Ah,
(Never get back, never gonna get back)
Number

Never get back to you

Little Mix (@LittleMixOffic) Speak On How They Came Together

Music News

From MTV:

Little Mix have made a name for themselves thanks to their cheeky chemistry and impressive harmonies. But new fans might be surprised to learn that they weren’t always the group they are now. Much like “X Factor” alums One Direction, they met while competing on the U.K. version of the series back in 2011. Intending to compete as solo acts, they were thrown together to make up Little Mix. The magic was palpable to viewers, and they ended up winning their season.

“It was like a freak accident, wasn’t it?” Edwards said of the group’s formation. “They put us together I think based on our height. They must have seen us together and thought, ‘They’re exactly the same height. They look good… blah, blah, blah.’ But then when we started singing, it just kind of clicked. We’re so lucky to have it actually work, I think.”

“But all of that just kind of makes me think, like, it was always supposed to happen,” Pinnock added. “It was fate, as cheesy as it sounds.”

Little Mix (@LittleMixOffic) Signs US Deal

From Entertainment Wise:

Perhaps inspired by The Saturdays who also inked a deal with Island Def Jam in the US in October, Little Mix will be releasing debut single ‘Wings’ as their first American release under the same label that houses One Direction, Adele and Beyonce.

Announcing the news in an interview with US magazine Twist, Jade Thirwall said: “We want to show everybody what we’re about and bring out our first single over here.”

“‘Wings’ is the perfect introduction to Little Mix and what we’re all about, so we can’t wait to show it to everybody in America!”

Jesy Nelson says they chose ‘Wings’ as their debut single in the States as it boasts an “uplifting message.”

“We wanted our first single to be a song that meant something to us, but also meant a lot to our fans,” Jesy told the magazine.

“We wanted an uplifting message about believing in yourself, listening to what your mum says (because she’s always right!) and just not letting any negativity bring you down.”

The X-Factor (@TheXFactor) Reveals Trailer For Upcoming Season

X-Factor is giving fans a taste of the upcoming ninth (I think?) season, featuring the very reminiscent Alexandra Burke, One Direction, Little Mix & JLS. What’s interesting is that Shayne Ward is completely non-existent from the above trailer, and he’s not to happy about it:

I can’t help but wonder what reason Simon Cowell could have for not including the X-Factor winner…..
