RIP Rich Homie Quan

Damn, bro. Our whole generation is in straight turmoil. From NBC News:

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, who burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2013, died in Georgia, authorities said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner said in a statement that Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital notified its personnel Thursday of the rapper’s death.

He was 33, the office said.

A cause and manner of death was not released. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, the medical examiner said.

The artist, whose given name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, scored a big hit more than a decade ago with the song “Type of Way.” He followed it up in 2015 with “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).”

Rapper Boosie Badazz posted about his friend’s death on social media.

He said the two had “GOOD ASS MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE. #restupquan.”

Boosie Badazz said the two artists were collaborating together before Rich Homie Quan’s death.

Rich Homie Quan’s family and his management representatives could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.

Rich Homie Quan Blasts Male Fan In Homophobic Rant (And Disses Young Thug In The Process)

From TMZ:

Rich Homie Quan went OFF on a male fan he says tried to grope him, yelling … “I don’t f*** with no f*****’ f**s.

Quan was doing a show in Tallahassee on Wednesday night, when he says a guy in the front row reached up and tried to grab his junk — and that’s when RHQ lost it.

Watch the clip, and listen closely for, “Get your gay ass away from me! I don’t f*** with no f*****’ f**s! Looking’ like Young Thug … get the f*** away from me.”

He ended the rant with, “I don’t like sissies, n***a!”

In the aftermath, Quan seemed more worried about pissing off Young Thug than any of the homophobic epithets. His DJ insisted the fan really did look like Young Thug.

Young Thug says he’ll give RHQ “a pass” for the comment. Not sure the gay community will do the same.

Rich Homie Quan Apologizes For Smoking With Baby In His Lap; CPS Investigation Launched

From TMZ:

Rich Homie Quan is copping to making a huge mistake when he lit up with his infant on his lap — question is … will it be enough to spare him a Child Protective Services investigation?

Quan says, “I would like to apologize to my son,(Royal) my fans and all the parents around the world.By no means would I do anything to hurt my son or any kid in the world.I regret that I chose to continue to smoke once Royal jumped in my lap.”

He put up a pretty loving pic of himself with Royal, and added, “I am sorry for my actions.” He never says exactly what he was smoking — marijuana or a hand-rolled cigarette.

TMZ broke the story … CPS and police in Georgia launched an investigation after seeing the smoking video, which RHQ posted himself — and after getting flooded with complaints.

RHQ says in spite of this mistake he’ll “continue to strive to be the best parent I can be.”

THOUGHTS? Rich Homie Quan Smokes Weed With His Baby In His Lap (Video)

We’re not parents, so we’re interested in your opinion. Is the above act wrong? From TMZ:

Rich Homie Quan just guaranteed he will NOT be getting a father of the year award, but he might be getting a visit from child protective services — after lighting up with his 1-year-old on his lap.

Quan wasn’t even trying to hide it — he was smoking what looks like a joint while chilling with little Royal Lamar … ON SNAPCHAT!

The rapper says something to the camera — after blowing out a huge puff of smoke — but it’s hard to make out. We suspect he might be kinda high.

It’s possible he’s not smoking marijuana, and it’s really a hand-rolled cigarette. But it’s not like that would be any better for the toddler.

Lil Dicky Creates Video For Fetty Wap & Rich Homie Quan-Assisted ‘$ave Dat Money’ (For Next To Nothing)

This guy is a genius:

Lil Dicky has released the visual for his single ‘$ave Dat Money’, which features current hot artists Fetty Wap and Rich Homie Quan. As you watch it, you learn just how close he’s staying within the song’s subject matter — by bartering with everyone he reaches out to (many of these people randoms he’s never met), he seems to have successfully pulled off the ballinest (not a word) video without ever reaching into his pocket. Plenty of big names get involved into the “experiment” as well.

The song is taken from his album Professional Rapper.
