Now THIS is something we’ve been looking forward to — a new project by D.C.’s own Tokyo Daimo, complete with 8 new tracks for us all to enjoy. Stream in full below.
Tokyo Daimo Returns with 3 New Tracks
This return is a long time coming. D.C.’s own Tokyo Daimo is back with some new heat for 2020….we’re definitely hoping that there’s plenty more where that came from. Also included: a fairly recent drop titled “Your Birthday.”
ILL Wonka & Tokyo Daimo – Talk to My Lawyer (Album)
2018 has been an eventful year for producer-artist ILL Wonka. He dropped a full-length project with Uptown DC’s Shaq James and beat some ridiculous and false felony charges. Today, he continues his winning streak with right-hand man Tokyo Daimo. If you don’t know your DC Rap history, these two have been making music as long as most, alongside the biggest artists from this area.
Wonka and Daimo, best-described as “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper”, are letting the world hear some of their best with Talk to My Lawyer. Seven amazing, previously unreleased tracks featuring frequent collaborator’s Lambo AnLo (of Rostrum Records) and Goo Glizzy. Check out Talk to My Lawyer today.
WillThaRapper – Double Up (Feat. Tokyo Daimo)
This one looks like it’s been floating around for about a month or so. The very dope WillTheRapper links with the equally dope Tokyo Daimo on “Double Up”.
Tokyo Daimo – Trip to Atlanta (prod by Millz (BWA])
This excellent Daimo song has been stuck in the drafts folder too long. One of DC’s most underrated went down to Atlanta earlier this year and came back up with this story of the trip. Don’t sleep.
Shaq James Matters (Mixtape)
On Election Day, Lee and Trippa dropped their presidential-themed mixtape. I was too depressed about the election to post it, but today, we move forward. A bunch of good songs on this project, and not just tracks about trapping or partying either. Hosted by DJ Torch.
Tokyo Daimo – How Feelings Sound (Prod. by ILL Wonka)
Tokyo Daimo and ILL Wonka have been locked in the studio, polishing songs for release and creating new ones. The latest song to come to fruition from these long nights is Daimo’s newest single, the cinematic “How Feelings Sound.”

Tokyo Daimo – Saving My City Pt. 1
Tokyo Daimo is back on attack mode with part one of two for his amazing single, “Saving My City” produced by his partner and main producer ILL Wonka. The DC anthem addresses problems with Daimo’s community, like the identity crisis in DC music and slang, issues between various local rappers, and more. Check “Saving My City” out now, with a second edition on the way soon.
Big Flock – 5:55 The Lost Files
Some crazy unreleased songs from Flock, including songs with Tokyo Daimo, ILL Wonka and others.
Big Flock releases an un-announced project entitled “5:55 The Lost Files”.
DJ Torch & Fat Rodney – Norfeazt Of The Torch Vol. 1
DJ Torch and Fat Rodney came together to unite their side of DC for an amazing compilation (based on things like this.) Essentially every rapper or group to come out of Northeast DC in the last 5 years is represented on the first installment of the Norfeazt Of The Torch compilation. Everyone I can think of (and more) from Northeast is on here, from Fat Trel, the Slutty Boyz, to Baraq, Sweizy, Mike Brown Da Czar, Tokyo Daimo, Hard Workin’ Ent., Da Big Fella, Chugaloo, Lundy Dior, Monopoly KP, etc. And it isn’t just a compilation for continuity’s sake, this is all heat from these rappers. Check it out because it’s some of the best music out of DC right now. Oh and by the way, this version of “Northeast Shit” was produced by Rick Flare, the original unreleased version was done by ILL Wonka.
Tokyo Daimo – Devil Dancing x Should Know By Now x RIP Daddy
We catch up with Northeast’s finest, Tokyo Daimo for three big songs he dropped recently. First a tribute to Uptown DC’s Diddy, produced by ILL Wonka. The CBE member was gunned down last year. Second, Daimo murders “Diamonds Dancing” by Future. Finally, he drops a crazy solo track, also produced by ILL Wonka.
ShaqJames (LeeDevito & Supa Trippa) – ShaqJames “The Mixtape”
LeeDevito and SupaTrippa from ShaqJames present their new, self-titled mixtape, hosted by DJ Torch, mixed by Tweeze. The DBMG duo has been buzzing for a while (the “PSA” video is nearing 35 thousand) and this new project is more of the same; cranking songs with great hooks and production. Devito and Trippa collaborated with Lil Tay of CBE and Tokyo Daimo, with beats from Rick Flare, Match Boxx, ILL Wonka, Jay Cornell and DJ Danny Fiyah. Get you a bomb.
Tokyo Daimo – Ms. White (Prod. by Rick Flare)
After many delays, setbacks and hold-ups, Tokyo Daimo (the best rapper in DC that you never heard of) is dropping two new projects. No, really, an EP and an LP (the unreleased Red Scare) are both set to be released in the month of August. For his first single from the LP, Ghostwritten by Wayne Perry, Daimo takes it to the trap with producer Rick Flare on “Ms. White.” Wish Daimo a happy belated, his birthday was yesterday.
TokyoDaimo ft. BBMSnipe – U Don’t Know Me
Tokyo Daimo links up with the man formerly known as Snipe Glizzy for an upbeat, autotune track. Ill Wonka on the beat?
Covaboy Live at the Law 3 Concert (with Tokyo Daimo and Lambo Anlo)
In a throwback to this February’s concert for Shy Glizzy’s Law 3 concert, Covaboy and Chase Money TV release a recap of the Silver Spring rapper’s performance.
Tokyo Daimo – Legend (Freestyle)
Daimo over “Legend.” His lyrical dexterity may sound impressive on this freestyle, but it pales in comparison to his written material.
Tokyo Daimo ft. Tino Loud & Paul McKinley – Wheels (Prod. Fortune)
Tokyo Daimo rolls with Tino Loud and Paul McKinley on the Autotune-heavy, triumphant “Wheels.” Ghostwritten by Wayne Perry, Daimo’s new mixtape is coming soon.
Tokyo Daimo – Legend (Video)
Continuing his DC takeover, Tokyo Daimo just dropped the official video for his “Legend” freestyle. Directed by Reelive Media, the colorful, trippy visuals complement the upbeat, boastful nature of Daimo’s take on the popular Drake song. Filmed in Cre8 Space studios, Daimo and company wild out in smoked-out rooms and leather couches, with cameos from JABB, ILL Wonka, etc.
Tokyo Daimo – Energy
Tokyo Daimo drops bar after bar on this new Drake freestyle. Endless double entendre…Expect something new from the NE DC rapper every week.

Tokyo Daimo – Man With A Gun (Video)
Tokyo Daimo talks about the realities of gun violence in the inner city in “Man With A Gun”, his fantastic new single. Produced by ILL Wonka and shot/directed in DC by Othello Banaci.
Black Cobain x Tokyo Daimo – Quiet Time
As Black Cobain puts the finishing touches on his upcoming mixtape Perfect Contradiction, he releases another record with his homie Tokyo Daimo. I had a chance to preview this record in the studio a few months ago, and I think the record is really good. Perfect Contradiction hits the net on Sunday.
