Lex Luger just said on twitter that he was selling his Neko workstation keyboard (and MPC). And you’ll notice, two other well known producers respond. I just thought it was interesting.

While working on April Showers, Wyclef ventured to the windy city to work with Young Chop at SoundScape Studios. Wyclef ended up making two records that day, “Bang Bang Bang” centers on the continued problem of youth violence in Chicago, while “Hope & Pray” tackles relationship issues that many can relate to. The Closed Sessions crew was on hand to capture it all.
Honestly, this is the first Reese song I’ve heard since that whole controversy and I’m not that impressed with his verse. Flocka comes through and does his usual yell-rap but it works as does Wale’s verse.
Young Chop gives out a freebie instrumental for the dreamer emcees to devour.
I predict that about a thousand new songs will surface using this instrumental by summer: 90 percent of them will feature rappers that all sound exactly the same. If you use this instrumental thinking it’s going to get you somewhere, you already have 1 strike against you.
Chicago rapper Rampage gets a beat from Young Chop, the head of this label. This track was alright, but the auto-tune was completely unnecessary.
Thanks to Auto-Tune, the features sound like one big clusterfuck of average emcee. At least you know the production is sound….Young Chop’s compilation project is coming soon.
