Mary J. Blige continues to establish her craft in Hollywood.

According to

Black America Web, Blige has been cast to star in a made for television movie focusing on the wives of Civil Rights leaders Martin Luther King

Jr. and Malcolm X.

Titled “Parallel Lives,” the movie will, for the first time, showcase the relationship and bond Coretta Scott King and Dr. Betty Shabazz shared.

Blige has been studying hard for the role following ‘Rock of Ages’ and Tyler Perry’s ‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself.’

Mary J. Blige has been long attached to play Nina Simone in a forthcoming biopic as well. As reported earlier this year, Blige secured a Golden Globe Award nomination for “The Living Proof,” a song she wrote for “The Help.”
