Things just keep getting worse in Chicago…..from the Chicago Tribune:

Chicago police are investigating if multiple shootings after last month’s homicide of aspiring rapper Lil Jojo are linked, according to law enforcement sources.

The slaying of 18-year-old Lil Jojo, whose real name was Joseph Coleman, garnered national attention following reports that police were looking into whether a war of words in the Chicago hip-hop community played a part in the slaying. A taunting tweet by South Side rapper Chief Keef after Lil Jojo’s killing drew the interest of law enforcement.

Last week, Cook County prosecutors sought to jail Chief Keef — whose real name is Keith Cozart — for violating probation. Chief Keef, 17, had been placed on probation in Juvenile Court for pointing a gun at a police officer. Prosecutors alleged he violated probation by holding a rifle in an online video.

Police sources said investigators are looking into whether several shootings since Lil Jojo’s homicide Sept. 4 are connected to the ongoing rap feud that investigators have documented from YouTube videos and Twitter feeds.

Police also believe the shootings are tied to a street gang conflict between the Lamron faction of the Black Disciples and the Gangster Disciples’ Brick Squad faction.

Among the homicides of interest to police is the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Keith Bonds on Sept. 17 at 59th Street and Normal Boulevard in the Englewood neighborhood.

Like Chief Keef, Bonds was affiliated with the Lamron faction, according to law enforcement sources, while police believe Lil Jojo had ties to the Brick Squad.
