One Direction’s ‘Take Me Home‘ is out today in the United States (it was released last week here), and they are celebrating the occasion by taking over New York….seriously. From MTV News:

One Direction drew a record-breaking crowd to Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, some who were camped out since Thursday, just hoping to get a glimpse of Harry, Liam, Niall, Zayn and Louis. The 15,000 in attendance was bigger than any crowd in the show’s history, according to co-host Al Roker. The boys kicked off the concert with a performance of “What Makes You Beautiful” and followed that up by talking with co-hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, for whom they had a special announcement.

“We are going to do our first-ever movie and it’s going to be in 3-D and it’s coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013,” Niall Horan told the screaming crowd.
