PSY

The Soulja Boy of the East. From MTV:

If your hips and wrists are sore from doing the “Gangnam Style” horsey dance at every wedding, bar mitzvah and flash mob for the past six months, Scooter Braun has some good news for you: Help is on the way.

It’s been nine months since South Korean superstar Psy began crushing the Internet with his signature song and dance. And, you might be asking yourself, after nearly 1.3 billion YouTube views and more than four million in U.S. sales, he’s got to be working on a sequel, right?

“In his country he’s been doing this for 12 years and he’s a superstar, selling out stadiums. They call him the ‘king of the concerts’ there,” Schoolboy Records boss Scooter Braun told MTV News. “What’s next? He told me he has another dance coming. For him it’s about trying to make history with ‘Gangnam Style.’ Now he’s excited to continue and he has another dance up his sleeve.”

That makes sense, since Psy told MTV News in December that he planned to “end”
his signature song on New Year’s Eve.

“Being in Times Square on New Year’s Eve is already special — it’s the biggest stage in the universe — plus it’s my birthday, so, with all that, it may be the ending of ‘Gangnam Style,'” Psy said. “I mean, what better way to do it? It’s my biggest and most meaningful birthday.” Like Braun, he also hinted that he has another trick up his sleeve.

“The song became too popular, and so you start to have some concern about its life period,” Psy said. “I’m really working hard on a new single right now … In America I need a new single because ‘Gangnam Style’ got too popular, so I’ve got to write a new single.”
