On Sunday night, Sean will share trophies with G.O.O.D. Music captain Kanye West, as well as Pusha T and 2 Chainz if the rap collective racks up W’s for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. And while “Mercy” helped usher the Detroit MC into an exclusive club that includes hip-hop luminaries like Nas, according to Sean, it was only a matter of time before he got his membership.
“I knew it would come; you just never know when,” he said when MTV News’ Sway caught up with him on the VIBE Media red carpet Friday in Los Angeles. “I figure, Sway, I put out one album and I’m 24 years old, and I knew it was gonna come sooner or later,” the Finally Famous rapper explained before adding a hilariously double-entendre-conscious “pause.” “So I’m just happy that it came so early — pause.

Below: Mary J. Blige has been slapped with another lawsuit — this one alleging she defaulted on a $500,000 loan to Bank of America. This comes just months after the singer was sued for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan! So when HipHollywood asked the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul how she handles the negative reports in the press she told us that, “negativity will always be there…you just have to let the haters hate”.

I keep seeing this EP pop up. Everywhere. Not just on the internet, either: in my friends cars, on internet radio……EVERYWHERE. So after passively avoiding the project from an artist I’ve only vaguely heard of, I finally hit the Play button. After finally listening to it, I gotta say…..it’s weird. I enjoy the landscapes that this project creates, but I’m not completely won over with the lyricism yet, whether she’s singing or rapping. The point is, it’s definitely worth a few listens. We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when. We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up.

Cee-Lo Green Sued Over Phantom Christmas Concerts
The ‘Cee-Lo Swindle’? From TMZ:
Cierra Management Group claims in its lawsuit, Cee Lo’s people approached them in November, 2011 with a proposition — doing a tour called “12 Days of Christmas.” Cierra would have had to front $100k per concert and it was too much money.
So Cee Lo’s peeps went back and proposed to slash XMAS in half and do 6 days at $100k each, but it was still too rich for Cierra’s blood.
So, according to the lawsuit, Cierra was offered a bargain basement Yuletide proposition — 2 concerts for a total of $243,000 including expenses. It was too tempting and Cierra agreed.
But here’s the deal … According to the suit, the concerts never took place and Cierra believes Cee Lo’s people never intended for them to take place. The suit claims it was all “a scheme designed to finagle funding capital for concerts they knew would not manifest.”
Cee Lo is not accused of being part of the conspiracy — although his people certainly are — but he’s being sued for allegedly refusing to perform the 2 concerts.
Cierra wants a whopping $14.2 million.
We contacted Cee Lo’s people and so far no response.
