Black Thought – Combat Jack Show Interview; Speaks On Almost Beefing With Nas

First and foremost, I gotta say how great it is that Combat Jack has progressed his show to Complex TV. With that said, Black Thought appeared as a guest on the show to speak on a number of things, from The Roots (obviously), meeting ?uestlove for the first time and more. Below is an excerpt of a pretty big topic that was discussed…..the “almost” issue with none other than Nasir:

Nas got in some interview and he made a comment about how wack it was for us to do the movie, ‘Bamboozled,’ with Spike Lee, and how you gon’ call yourself The Roots and Black Thought and you’re portraying a group called The Alabama Porch Monkeys?

I hadn’t really interacted with him at all up until that point. And then there was a show one night with Talib Kweli, and I think Kweli invited Nas and he invited me, and we were all there in the building together. I had a chance to meet Nas, and he explained to me that it wasn’t coming from a personal place, and he basically apologized.

I was ready for whatever. Yeah, I was gonna take Nas that night. When I heard he was gonna be there, I was like, “Should I just slap the shit outta Nas?”… But before any of that, he defused it, on some real, bigger man shit.

MTV RapFix reports:

Both Gucci Mane and Young Scooter are currently being housed in the Georgia lock-up, but RapFix has learned that the two collaborators are actual cellmates.

Gucci was booked on April 12 on a probation violation. The arrest came right after he was indicted on aggravated assault charges and freed on a $75,000 bond, which came after a U.S. army soldier accused the rapper of hitting him the head with a champagne bottle. Young Scooter, Gucci’s Free Bricks 2 mixtape partner-in-rhyme, was booked on a few days earlier on April 8th and also charged with a probation violation. Now a source with connections to both artists tells us that the two rappers aren’t just in the same jail, but they are currently living in the same cell.

That cannot be a coincidence.  In other news, Scooter was sentenced to 8 months today for a probation violation.
