Athletes are definitely in the news for the worst reasons this morning.  Ausar Walcott was arrested this monring for attempted murder.

From ESPN:

Cleveland Browns rookie linebacker Ausar Walcott was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted murder for allegedly punching a man outside a club in Northern New Jersey.

Authorities told The Bergen Record that Walcott punched Derrick Jones in the head just after The Palace Gentlemen’s Club closed early Sunday morning.

Police say Jones, who is from New York City, is in critical condition. Walcott, 23, is held on $500,000 bail. The Browns said in a statement that the team is “aware of the situation.”

Walcott was signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia last month. In 45 games for Virginia, he totaled 128 career tackles, 1.5 sacks, four passes defensed and one fumble recovery.

AZ&TOR (@azandtor) – Sit Back (Video)

The duo AZ&TOR, aka Aisha Zoe & Rich Main, were thrown into the limelight by BBC’s Introducing series, tipped as ones to watch, and releasing their debut ‘Resend’ via Madtech’s fortnightly free download series. The producer / singer outfit return to the label here with a full length EP, joining the likes of Citizen, Voyeur, Waze & Odyssey and Krystal Klear on the roster.

The EP kicks off with the original version of title track ‘Sit Back’, a contemporary deep-house workout, drenched with soul and cossetting warmth. Aisha’s heartfelt vocal lines brilliantly meander around the sturdy groove’s foundations, built upon organic piano chord progressions, bright string melodies and bubbling sub tones. ‘Feels Like’ follows, embracing a similar aesthetic with hypnotic, warbling synth melodies, shuffling, off- kilter drums and sensual vocal lines, jazzy sax licks add a further musicality to the cut, building to a focal point, where an elongated, penetrating bass takes things up a notch, resulting in a heady peak-time house number.

Next up is ‘Carry Mine’, displaying a more ethereal side to the duo’s productions with brooding pads, resonant synth lines, broken-beat drum programming and a contemporary house feel, achieved through an amalgamation of urban vocal lines.
Following their critically acclaimed ‘Crying Wolf’ EP which preceded this release, No Artificial Colours step in to rework, ‘Sit Back’, the duo stamp their signature low-slung, house meets garage sound on the original record, with hooky bass, heavily swung snares and murmuring chops of the original vocal. To close the release Polkadot turns in a mix of ‘Sit Back’, putting things on a New Jersey tip with raw 909 drums, Hammond organ tones and gritty saw-wave bass action.

This is yet another outstanding addition to the Madtech catalogue, and further testament to the attentive A&R approach of the imprint. AZ&TOR’s ‘Sit Back’ EP is release on Madtech 8th July 2013.

Courtesy of Anjunadeep:

London based Leftwing & Kody are rapidly making a name for themselves as one the most most exciting duos in deep house. With a sound that draws strongly on garage influences and a knack for melding contemporary flourishes with old school grooves, the pair’s recent releases on OFF and Exploited have earned support from a host of big names such Groove Armada, Agoria, Huxley, Tensnake and Laurent Garnier.

A stand-out track from Jody Wisternoff’s forthcoming “Anjunadeep 05” CD, the pair’s Anjunadeep debut “Deep In” continues this impressive run of form.

Built around an infectiously energetic bassline, “Deep In” fuses classic garage swing with deep atmospherics and a soaring vocal. The result is a dark, dancefloor-ready banger that is sure to hit the same heights as their recent cuts.

Austrian production duo Mann & Klamm mark their Houseology debut with a stomping anthem. “Don’t Hold Me Back” employs slow creeping stabs, with aquatic textures running through, eventually bringing the crowd to an amazing climax! The EP is completed by an equally strong remix by fellow Austrian native Fabe who pays homage to the classic US Garage era with his version.

Flo Rida Being Hit For Child Support From The State….For A Child He Denied Fathering

wpid-florida-news-article111212

From TMZ:

The Florida Dept. of Revenue filed legal docs in connection with Gloria Holloway’s request for child support from Flo — real name Tramar Dillard — for Gloria’s two-year-old son.

As TMZ previously reported, Flo denied knocking up Gloria … and even claimed he took a paternity test that came back negative — but according to the new docs, the court has ALREADY established paternity.

Here’s why … when child support requests come through the state’s Dept. of Revenue — it usually means no one’s disputing it. Translation: Looks like Flo’s the daddy.

Now the state of FL wants Flo to hand over his financials so it can determine how much he owes.
