UPDATE: Natalie Holt has actually responded to (and apologised for) the egg-throwing incident in The Guardian. You can read that response on the next page.

From KHOU:

Simon Cowell was hit with a series of eggs during Saturday night’s live finale of “Britain’s Got Talent” — a surprise apparently for everyone on the show. It wasn’t part of the act.

Richard and Adam Johnson were singing an operatic version of “The Impossible Dream,” when a woman got out of her seat and started pelting eggs at Cowell, who was sitting alongside fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams. The woman was a viola player named Natalie Holt, who was a contestant on the show last season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Britiain’s Got Talent” released the following statement: “Natalie Holt (age 30) was part of the backing group for their performance, and as a result of her misguided actions the police were called. However, we have decided to take no further action at this stage.”

The eggs hit Cowell, who ended up having to change his jacket. He took to Twitter after the incident, saying he didn’t “even like eggs.”
