ESPN reports:

Massachusetts State Police have recovered a gun they say was used in a 2012 double homicide in Boston allegedly linked to former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, according to multiple reports.

The gun was found in the car of Jailene Diaz-Ramos, 19, after she was involved in accident on June 21 on Interstate 91 in Springfield, Mass., reports say. It’s uncertain what connection Diaz-Ramos, who is from Hernandez’s hometown of Bristol, Conn., has to Hernandez.

CBS 3 in Springfield reported that ballistic tests show the gun is the same one used in July 2012 when Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Teixeira Furtado, 28, were shot outside a Boston club. Witnesses have told police they were fired at from an SUV with Rhode Island license plates, a vehicle resembling one towed from Hernandez’s uncle’s house in Bristol. The shooting reportedly occurred following an altercation at a club between Hernandez, his group and others.

Hernandez remains jailed in Mass., charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd on June 17. Hernandez has a probable cause hearing scheduled for Thursday. It has been widely reported that Lloyd may have had knowledge about the Boston slayings.

Authorities have not recovered the gun used in the Lloyd shooting. However, video cameras in Hernandez’s home appear to show him carrying a gun in the hours after the shooting.
