Kari — you may know him as P, who helped create Fat Trel’s career — has found a new group, FU, which stands Finest Uptown. Worm and Moll Kush are two emcees from Uptown DC and next week they will present their first single to the world, “Damn”. In my opinion, it’s one of the best videos I have seen from a DMV artist and a very long time. We are also dropping our exclusive interview very soon with P, where he goes into details about the Fat Trel situation. Produced by P.
Eli Saf (@TRILLZOMBIE) – The “I AM L.A.M.E.” Compilation

Fat Trel’s Publicist Speaks On SOB’s Shooting
The New York Post reports that after midnight, shots rang out near the stage resulting in a stampede to escape the venue. In a statement, Darius “Sunny D” Davie, Fat Trel’s publicist, spoke out about the event and against SOBs security:
“It went from a turnt up show to a battlefield in a matter of seconds. It was a pure stampede of people. After awhile I wasn’t worried about being stray bullets, I was worried about being run over by the mob of people. And I have a feeling that there was more than one gunman in that venue. As soon as I exited the venue safely, I wasn’t leaving until I knew Trel & Debo [Trel’s day to day manager] was ok. My question is…who the hell runs SOBs security?!” –

Chief Keef Ordered To Jail
TMZ reports:
Police in Chicago have been told to haul Chief Keef’s deadbeat ass to jail … if they see him … after the 17-year old rapper blew off a child support hearing, TMZ has learned.
We broke the story … Keef was ordered to appear in court on September 5 to explain why he hasn’t forked over more than $20k in child support payments to his baby mama.
Problem is … Keef no-showed — so the judge issued an order for his arrest, which means if cops see his ass, they can drag him right to the slammer and hold him until he pays roughly 1/5th of his child support debt.
We know he can afford it — but it’s unclear why he’s refusing to pony up. Attempts to reach Keef for comment were unsuccessful.
Jay Z Told Just Blaze “You Owe Me One” To Clear “Higher” Sample [VIDEO]
Hiphopwired reports:
Just Blaze and Baauer’s “Higher” is an EDM smash, even if it was just a promo. “This record was never intended to be released,” Just Blaze told Hip-Hop Wired. “We made it as a commercial for our tour.” But before the record was officially released, it’s Jay Z sample needed to be cleared, which meant Just’s relationship with Hova came in handy. Getting Jay Z’s approval was a breeze since the rapper/mogul was fond of the track early. Interestingly, how Jigga heard the track managed to involved his wife. “I get a call from Beyoncé’s assistant and she like ‘Yo, B wants to meet you, can you come to the studio real quick?’,” recalls Just, who happened to be kicking it that day with Bauuer and bought him along for for his meeting. “We get there, Jay’s there, and after we had the meeting I play him the record and he was like, ‘This is amazing, what is this?’ Heard it like three times, gave it his nod of approval. Once we decided to officiall release it, I just hit him up like ‘Yo this record has the Internet going nuts, the clubs are going nuts, we’re selling out shows, you mind if I put this out?’ He’s like just call this person, call that person, and you owe me one.”
Queen Latifah Says Female Emcee’s Haven’t Topped Lil Kim Era
Tattletailzz reports:
Would you agree with that statement? I think she is right and no lies were told, you have some that have tried and I will even put Nicki Minaj in that category but Until we get another good batch of female emcee’s we won’t see another era like the Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, Missy Elliott era.
Latifah stopped by the Rickey Smiley show this morning and they posed a question to her, they asked her to share a list of female emcee’s that she has been impressed with over the last 15 years?
““I still think some of the best ones that have done it have yet to be topped. I still don’t think anybody has topped the whole era of Foxy, Kim, Missy, Eve, me on the tail end kinda things,” the soon-to-be television host explained. “I’m still looking forward to it not just being a one-at-a-time female rapper thing. I mean, I think Nicki Minaj is great, but I think we definitely need to blow up some of the other females that are out there.”
Her talk show which is set to debut on September 16th ”The Queen Latifah Show” is executive produced by Will and Jada Smith. The Queen says that it will be a show with real conversationsand having real people doing major things. It will air on CBS. I completely agree the earlierfemale rappers could hold their own when rapping with a male on a CD. Queen Bee killed it with that MOBB deep song.. Foxy’s verse on aint no nigga was the jam and still is to this day.. In terms of dominance and power in the industry, we have yet to see more female dominance than the mid 90s crew [lil kim, missy, foxy, lauryn hill, etc]
However, in terms of substance and quality. The late 80s to early 90s wins… Truth hurts…

Drake Being Sued Over OVO Logo
TMZ Reports:
Drake’s expensive jewelry collection is coming back to bite him in the ass — a famous jeweler is suing him over a $50,000 owl pendant … claiming Drake illegally made knockoffs of it for his friends.
The jeweler Baden Baden Inc. (owned by designer Michael Raphael) filed the lawsuit, claiming Drizzy hired the company to make a custom diamond-studded platinum owl pendant back in January … and paid $49,204.
Then in June … BB claims gold duplicates of the pendant started surfacing on Drake’s Instagram.
According to the lawsuit, BB claims Drake took its original design, copied it, and handed out the knockoffs to his pals.
Baden Baden is suing for copyright infringement, demanding unspecified damages, and asking the court to force Drake to hand over the owl copies.
One potential sticking point — Drake’s been using the owl logo for years … it’s the freakin’ cover of his 2011 mixtape.

Banks [London]
Banks [London]
Big fan of Banks‘ “Warm Water” and “Fall Over”…specTACular songs! (Posted in the bonus section. #MustListen) … But more recently, she released her [London] EP, which is definitely good music as well.
…Four tracks. Nicely played out sultry love songs with a lot of passion, and constantly changing moods. #LoveIt #Crafty. It might have to grow on you a little. But promise. You’re in for a treat once it hits. Just be patient. Let the songs build.
Posted all 4 tracks from the new EP below (…available for purchase via itunes). “Change” is easily my favorite (…I think), but like I said, I posted all 4 tracks below. Also, If you’ve never heard of Banks before this post, I highly suggest getting into her older stuff first (posted in the bonus). Then make your way back up to the now. You’ll appreciate it better. Just my 2 cents though. Enjoy…
