Pusha T MNIMN Testimonial (Episodes 1 & 2)

Courtesy of Noisey. Shoutout to Tony Lewis, Jr. (he appeared in the 2nd episode).

My Name is My Name might seem like a rather obvious statement and dubious title for a record, but after checking out the first in a series of video “testimonials” (this one is called “A Name I Call Myself”), the origin becomes infinitely clearer. Check out the new Orson Whales & Kris Ex directed clip on that Pusha T LP and look for the record, which features Kanye West, Pharrell, Swizz Beatz and more, on October 8th. It’s currently up for preorder at iTunes with a free download of the new track “Nosetalgia” featuring the homie Kendrick Lamar.

@EttaBond – Under The Knife (Video)

Etta Bond performs this beautiful piece accompanied by Raf Riley on the piano and co written by Labrinth. This interesting one take performance was given a slight twist once Jeremy Cole took it into the edit chopped it up into a couple thousand different layers and then mixed them all around. The result is a film that slowly comes together as you watch it. – Lemonade Money TV

TWITTER BEEF: Kanye West Vs. Jimmy Kimmel (Part 2)

kanye-west-attacks-jimmy-kimmel-on-twitter-over-interview-spoof

Kanye West (and his latest foe, Jimmy Kimmel, following a skit that reenacted his recent interview with Zane Lowe using children) is at it again on Twitter, and it appears he has some folks in his corner. You can check out the Tweets below (above is his first; it goes to an editorial on Slate that pretty much blasts Kimmel for the skit).

Kanye West Goes Off On Paparazzi Again

Screen Shot 2013-09-27 at 2.31.42 PM

TMZ Reports:

Kanye West went nuclear again on the paparazzi — but this time Kanye has good reason to be pissed.

Kanye was at his bachelor pad at 4 AM, when several photogs (not TMZ) approached him as he was getting in his car to leave …. and asked about his feud with Jimmy Kimmel.

It appears Kim is also there. Sources say he and Kim were on their way to the airport with the final stop — Paris.

Take a look at the video. An infuriated Kanye lunges at the photog but it does not appear there is any physical contact.

It looks as if the photogs are standing on his driveway — which is a trespass.

The Syndicate Superclub In Blackpool Set To Shut Down For Good

7760654394_741a48d974_z

You can read more here.

Time is running out for a famous old Blackpool nightspot after plans to demolish it were formally submitted to the council.

Campaigners had hoped to save the Syndicate on Church Street but a reprieve now looks unlikely.

Proposals have been lodged for the demolition of the building – formerly the ABC Cinema – and for the use of the land as a car park with 65 spaces for up to five years.

But rumours persist as to what lies ahead for the site – with a hotel seen as hot
favourite.

Explaining the decision to push ahead with demolition, a council spokesman said: “We’ve looked at various options people have brought forward for the building but did not feel that any of those were
viable in the long-term.

“As a result we are now actively pursuing other re-development opportunities for the area, starting with the demolition of the building.

“This includes a number of options and ways to compliment the Winter Gardens and the future of events and conferencing in Blackpool. This could potentially include a hotel.”

This is the first time the council has openly made a
direct link between the old Syndicate building and using it as a tool to encourage more conferences to the town.

The loss of major political rallies has been a huge talking point in recent years.

And opposition Tory leader Coun Tony Williams said he believed a new hotel was “probably a done deal”.

9th Wonder – Bladey Mae (Instrumentals)

wonder

I’ll let him tell it:

“This past weekend, I met my grandma, Beulah Mae Jarrett Douthit’s family (my dad’s mother) for the first time. My grandma passed in 1965, so I’ve had no connection to her at all. I listened to the elders talk about her all day. One elder in particular, her oldest niece, who’s 78-years-old, told me that her nickname was ‘Bladey Mae’, because of the blades she carried around in the purse and pockets, to protect her children from a segregated South, one of them being my dad. I was looking for a name for a new beat tape, and that one just came out of nowhere. Here’s to you Beulah Mae Jarrett Douthit and the blades you carried to protect pops……’Bladey Mae’… ”

A Topless Miley Cyrus Covers Rolling Stone; Speaks On Her Favorite Drug

miley-cyrus-rolling-stone-lead-1

Folks looking out for next month’s issue of Rolling Stone may or may not be delighted to see a topless Hanna Montana. In said issue, she does speak on a number of topics, including race in Pop music and (gasp!) drugs:

Me and [producer] Mike WiLL were talking about it. He said, “For me, my biggest achievement has been working with a white girl—but for a white girl to work and associate with black producers, you’re being ratchet.” He’s like, “Why am I on the come-up if I work with you, but if you work with me, it’s like you’re trying to be hood?” It’s a double-standard. I didn’t really realize it, but people are still racist. It’s kind of insane. Like if I had come out [at the VMAs] with all white-girl dancers, and done the fucking “Cha Cha Slide”— same outfit, same everything — it wouldn’t have been bad. But because of who I came out with, people got upset. Because they were girls from the club. They had thick asses. They were twerking. That’s what I want, though — I want real girls up there who can really party. The Baker girls [her backup dance crew, the L.A. Bakers] don’t give a fuck about me. They love me, but they’re not kissing my ass. They’re just excited to not be dancing at the club.

I think weed is the best drug on earth. One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon. Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs— social drugs. They make you want to be with friends. You’re out in the open. You’re not in a bathroom. I really don’t like coke. It’s so gross and so dark. It’s like what are you, from the ’90s? Ew.

Drake & Chris Brown End Their Beef!

chris-brown-drake-e1380149286930

Page Six Reports:

The bottle-throwing beef between rapper Drake and Chris Brown has been squashed.

The musicians — who got into an epic fracas at Soho nightclub W.I.P. in 2012 — hugged it out at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas over the weekend. Sources tell us Drake and his crew came to the music fest on Friday specifically to watch Brown’s performance.

“Drake came on Friday with his whole crew, and watched Chris’ entire set,” we’re told.

After Brown came off stage, a spy told us: “They were backstage hugging and drinking.” We’re told the reunion went so well, the two even talked about creating some tracks together.

Sources tell us the mediator of the reunion was Def Jam music exec Abou Thiam — who’s one of Brown’s managers and a brother of rapper Akon. We’re told Thiam is “very friendly with Drake, and worked to try and get him and Chris together to put their differences aside.”

Drake released his new album, “Nothing Was the Same,” on Tuesday. Brown can be seen in the new dance movie “Battle of the Year.”

@Malisa_Grace – Don’t Know Tomorrow (Lyric Video)
