MYFOXNY reports:

NEWJERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) – There were reports of shots being fired at the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, N.J. on Monday night. It reportedly happened about 9:30 p.m. when police received several 9-1-1 calls from the expansive mall.

Police had not confirmed any information but there were several reports on Twitter about a gunman opening fire inside the mall.

The entire parking lot was filled with police cars on the North end of the mall that is anchored by Nordstroms. Video from SkyFoxHD showed people running from the mall.

A worker at a restaurant in the mall tells Fox 5 News he heard shots and mall security told staff to lock the doors. Eduardo Bermudez says everyone started running from the restaurant.

Law enforcement scanner traffic reported a male wearing body armor and a rifle in the mall. Witnesses report a large police presence at the mall.

The Hackensack tactical team was being deployed to the mall, according to police scanner traffic.

Again, law enforcement has not publicly confirmed any details yet.
