What the fuck? Mass Appeal says;

Thanks to all the fans who supported the Run The Jewels’ Meow the Jewels Kickstarter campaign, the cat sound-infused album is officially becoming a reality. Having reached the $45,100 goal with 11 days to spare, the campaign currently stands at $54,286.

What began as a joke has grown into a real project featuring an impressive list of collaborators including Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Just Blaze, Zola Jesus, Dan the Automator, Alchemist, Baauer, Prince Paul, Boots, Nick Hook, skywlkr, and Solidified Sun. While there’s currently no release date for Meow The  Jewels, we’re all about to be blessed with a reworked version of RTJ2 featuring nothing but cat sounds sometime in the near future.

A unique project like this deserves an equally epic trailer, so watch the clip in the player above which features clips from movies such as Big Trouble in Little China, Pulp Fiction, a bunch of B-Rated movies, and a shitload of cats. The clip was created by Brooklyn-based artist Hectah, and you can find out more about the man behind the trailer here.

RTJ2 will be available on October 27 at all your favorite record stores, as well as in CD, LP and digital form via Mass Appeal Records. Preorder the album here, check tour dates below, and purchase tickets here.
