Crazy that we can remember when there wasn’t any festival worth attending in D.C. not that long ago (shout out to Trillectro for making the first move in changing that). Now, we can add another one to a growing list of dope events that include Broccoli City Fest and (as of today) Landmark Festival:
During his (AMAZING!) set, Wale announced that he’ll be following in the footsteps of Drake (OVO Fest) and Lil Wayne (LilWeezyAna Fest) by creating his own festival for D.C. Dubbed “Walepalooza”, the event is expected to both have plenty of the elements that you can only find in D.C. and surprises from many of Wale’s peers (he name-checked rappers like J. Cole, for example).
We certainly can’t wait to see what Wale cooks up for next Summer!
