A Waco rapper and admitted member of the street gang Crips was sentenced to prison Thursday on multiple felony counts that include violent acts against the mothers of his children.

Wesley Takquan Lewis, known by his rapper name Hotboy Wes, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by 19th State District Judge Thomas West after Lewis pleaded guilty to 10 counts alleged in six separate indictments.

Lewis, 28, appearing virtually at the hearing from the McLennan County Jail, pleaded guilty to two enhanced counts of assault family violence, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, endangering children, criminal mischief of more than $2,500 and theft from a person in offenses ranging from 2020 to 2023.

West sentenced Lewis to 15 years in prison on multiple counts and 24 months in prison on the state jail felony offenses, ordering the sentences to be served concurrently. Lewis, who was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2013 for an engaging in organized criminal activity conviction, must serve at least 7 ½ years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
